A player’s attempt at building a large rocket inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomended in failure despite having many Zonai devices at their disposal. InThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players may begin building vehicles and other contraptions right after acquiring Link’s new abilities on the Great Sky Island.
Link gains the Ultrahand, Fuse, Ascend, and Recall abilities after completing four shrines on the Great Sky Island inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The hero’s new arm allows players to switch between these abilities at will while exploring Hyrule. One of the most commonly used abilities isZelda: Tears of the Kingdom’sUltrahand, which lets players grab items from a distance and solve puzzles involving objects Link cannot pick up with his hands. The Ultrahand ability is useful for helping Addison prop up Hudson Construction signs across Hyrule as well. Further, players may use Ultrahand to create vehicles and navigate Hyrule more quickly compared to traversal on foot.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer SloaneDoodle recently built a pilotable rocket made out of smallerZonai rockets and time bombs, but the rocket quickly fell apart and blew up after taking command of its steering stick. Several time bombs were attached together to make a wide platform, and six Zonai rockets were attached to the bombs to seemingly facilitate flight. Unfortunately, the use of the steering stick activated both the rockets and time bombs, causing an explosion that sent Link barreling off of the sky island.
SloaneDoodle seemingly intended for the rocket to lift off and send Link high into the sky to reach another sky island or point of interest inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, the rocket burners were directly placed on the bombs, preventing the makeshift rocket from launching off of the ground. Normally, Zonai rockets would ignite and lift off at high speed if the rocket burners are completely exposed or facing the ground.
Although SloaneDoodle’s rocket build attempt didn’t go as planned, this may inspire new ideas for Ultrahand contraptions involving rockets and bombs inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Rockets and bombs may be used tomake fireworks inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and some players may use these items to boost flight speed for gliders and makeshift aircraft.
Nintendo recently targeted anotherZelda: Tears of the Kingdomduplication glitchin the 1.2.0 update. The developers may be working on additional bug fixes and adjustments, and it remains to be seen if Ultrahand builds involving Zonai devices will be affected in the future. Fortunately, Nintendo appears to be prioritizing its efforts around fixing exploits and duplication glitches for now.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis available now for Nintendo Switch.
