This week is set to be a big one for Xbox fans, as Microsoft is going to show off the firstXbox Series Xgameplay footage on May 7. In anticipation of the big reveal, Microsoft has also released a short video that appears to show the Xbox Series X start up sound and animation, which players will presumably see every time they boot up their next-generation console.

Microsoft revealed what is likely the Xbox Series X start up sound and animation in a tweet reminding everyone about theupcoming Inside Xbox presentation on May 7that will reveal the first-ever Xbox Series X gameplay footage. In the tweet, the official Xbox Twitter account said “Boot up Xbox 20/20,” which has led many fans to conclude that this is indeed the Xbox Series X start up sound and animation. However, it’s possible this will just be used at the end of Xbox Series X trailers and things of that nature instead of in the console itself.

For the uninitiated,Xbox 20/20 is a new initiativeMicrosoft has announced that will see the company make big announcements for the Xbox Series X each month for the rest of 2020. Things will be getting started with the Inside Xbox presentation on May 7. It’s unclear what June will have in store, but July will see the reveal of Xbox Series X first-party games, withHalo Infinitelikely to be on full display.

It’s likely that the Xbox 20/20 initiative is happening due toE3 2020 being canceled. Presumably, all of these announcements would have happened all at once during Microsoft’s E3 2020 press conference, but now the company has the freedom to spread things out a bit more. Some fans may be disappointed that this means first-party Xbox Series X titles won’t be shown off until July, but on the bright side, it should give every big game announcement a lot more breathing room than they would have otherwise.

In the meantime, there’s still a lot that has yet to be revealed when it comes to the Xbox Series X besides its games and start up sound. For example, fans have yet to see the Xbox Series X dashboard, rumored to be very similar to theXbox One’s home screen, and it’s unclear if the new console will be introducing any new Xbox Live online features. Anyone interested in Xbox Series X should be sure to tune in to the Xbox 20/20 events, beginning with the May 7 Inside Xbox presentation.
