Summary
Despite being almost nine years old now, FromSoftware’sBloodborneremains relevant. This is mainly due to its lasting impression on fans, thanks to the developer creating one of the most memorable and immersive settings in video game history. Many feel thatBloodborne’s stunningly dark, Lovecraftian setting of Yharnamis in need of a face lift, by way of a remake, but despite this feeling like a good idea on paper, fans may need to wait a little longer until it becomes reality. The launch of the PS6, whenever that may be, would be a much more appropriate time for such a project to see the light of day.
It seems crazy to even be talking about the PS6 when it feels like the PS5 hasn’t even reached the peak of its powers yet. The truth of the matter is that if previous generations are anything to go by, then the PS5 is probably halfway through its life cycle already. While that would indicate that the best of this generation is probably yet to come, it does mean that, slowly but surely, it becomes time to wonderwhat the launch of the PS6 will entail. A huge exclusive remake such asBloodbornewould ensure the next generation starts with a bang.

The PS6 Will Look to Push Boundaries Even Further
Having a strong lineup of games can really help a console’s launch to be memorable, and set things off on the right foot. The PS5 didn’t have a particularly big selection of launch titles, but it did include a couple of really strong exclusives inMarvel’s Spider-Man Miles MoralesandDemon’s Souls. The latter was a remake ofFromSoftware’s 2009 PS3 gameof the same name, this time developed by Bluepoint Games, and it faithfully recreated everything that made the original game so special.
Such was the stellar job it did withDemon’s Souls, it would make a lot of sense to give the project toBluepoint Games, should aBloodborneremake indeed come to fruition. Dropping this remake as a PS6 launch title would generate an incredible amount of additional hype around an event that would already be highly anticipated. As well asBloodborne’s gameplay holds up today, its frame rate stutters at 30fps, and its textures and character models are also beginning to show their age.

The PS6, which would presumably be the most powerful game console in existence at that point, would be the perfect vehicle to bring this project to life. While some already consider it to be among the finest games ever made, bringingBloodborne’s visuals up to the same bar set by its gameplay would elevate it to new heights. While fans can probably expect the PS6 to launch sometime around 2027/2028, for many this will feel like too long of a wait for newBloodbornecontent. It’s important to note that this is pure speculation though, and nothing concrete about any newBloodborneproject has been announced, despiteFromSoftware reportedly working on multiple as-yet-unnamed projects.
