One such quest involves a farmer who has been sentenced to death by local officials over his alleged collaboration with outlaws. This dispute might seem insignificant at first, but it’s actuallyone of the major factorsthat decidethe fate of Tiltrenregarding the ongoing struggle between its local populace and the Edoranian refugees in their midst. Here’s how to clear the Sentenced To DeathquestinWartales.

Starting The Quest

The Sentenced to Death quest will start automatically once players speak to a specific NPC in Tiltren. Alternatively, the Informant in the Traveller’s Feast Inn sells this quest. Luckily, he only takes payments of Influence, so players won’t have to spendany of their hard-earned Krownsto get information.

Either way, the quest involves a married couple living on the Wealthy Farm to the west of Stromkapp. Talk to the crying woman, and she’ll tell how the village chief sentenced her husband to the gallows after being accused of theft. Then, she will ask players to go find her husband’s “friends” nearby. Depart from the farm and take a walk outside.

Head past the forest directly north of the farm to find the Lakeside Camp, where thefarmer’s friends are hiding out. Speak to their leader, Isabeth, and she’ll tell players about how their new recruit hasn’t returned yet from his first assignment. Burdened by the thought of losing a rookie, she gathers her men and moves out. Follow Isabeth’s party back to the Wealthy Farm, but don’t forget to check their camp for free loot first.

Choose A Side

Isabeth’s group will immediately engage with the town guards led by the village chief. Click on them to start a short dialogue sequence between the two parties. After that, players will be forced to pick which group they want to assist. The following combat encounter and its subsequent rewards will change depending on who players side with.

The village chief will give players the Adjustable Straps accessory, which grants +1 Movement Speed to its wearer. On the other hand, Isabeth’s reward includes the Bar of Soap accessory, which reduces the Suspicion gained after performing a criminal act. Helping her will also let players sell stolen goods in bandit camps. Regardless of who they help, players will always get +20 Influence and Progress.

The battle itself is straightforward. The enemy leaders don’t have anything special hiding under their sleeves like some other bosses in the game, and players can get away with usingany party paired with simple tactics. Keep the leaders tied up and methodically take out the other enemy units. Once the battle is finished, talk to the surviving NPC leader to claim the rewards.
