The new patch notes forValheiminclude a few fixes, most of them focused on cloud-saving issues. For instance, backups will be no longer deleted after restoration, and they can be used more than once. Also, several bugs regarding missing files and backups that could not be properly restored were fixed. Other fixes include placing ship markers correctly on the mini-map, and lighting effects that didn’t work previously.
The console-exclusive parts of the update include improved stability and a decreased chance of saves being corrupted on Xbox, something that was an issue before. It’s also stated in the patch notes that save files that got corrupted will be detected and won’t be able to get started as empty worlds anymore. Finally, a bug related to time stamps in the cloud saves was corrected, and players will no longer face it.
This was a small update, and no new features were introduced. Previous updates introduced new features such asmaking inventory management easier, but none of these current changes will affect gameplay.
Despite the simplicity of the current patch,Valheimis promising several updates for 2023, including new biomes and quests. While the next major update does not have a specific release date yet,the upcoming Ashlands biomewill change the scenery, letting players explore a “land of the dead.”
