With only a few months left until the release ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company have been sharing plenty of details aboutPokemon’s ninth generation titles. Previous trailers have already shown off plenty of new characters, new mechanics, and several new Pokemon joining the game includinglegendary Pokemon Koraidon and Miraidon. This month’s Pokemon Presents broadcast gave fans an in-depth look at the Paldea region as well as introducing thePokemonfranchise’s newest mechanic, the Terastal phenomenon.

The Terastal phenomenon inPokemon Scarlet and Violetfeatures crystallized Pokemon with the new mechanic powering up a Pokemon’s moves of a specific type, or even allowing Pokemon to gain a new type in battle. The trailer also showed off raid dens similar toSword and Shield’s Max Raids where players can encounter rare types of Terastal Pokemon. Now, Pokemon is once again welcoming a familiar face asUndertalecreator Toby Fox reveals his involvement with the soundtrack.

Toby Fox recently revealed through his personal Twitter account that his music would once again be featured in a main-seriesPokemongame. Fox revealed that he was responsible for composing the music forPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Terastal Raids. Fox would go on to remark on his interactions with game director Shigeru Ohmori when first discussing the soundtrack. Ohmori had apparently given Toby Fox an image of a Lucario with a gigantic flower on its head as inspiration for music surrounding the new mechanic.

Toby Fox’s confirmed involvement would not be the first time theUndertalecreator has created music for a main-seriesPokemongame, or even withScarlet and Violet. Fox had confirmed in June that he hadcomposedScarlet and Violet’s field musicas well as multiple other tracks within the newPokemongeneration. Toby Fox also worked with The Pokemon Company and Game Freak during the franchise’s eighth generation, composing music forPokemon Sword and Shield’s Battle Tower.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave seen plenty of major reveals since their announcement earlier this year. The newestPokemongames were confirmed to be the firstfully open-world main-seriesPokemongameswith players not restricted to a set path by the game’s story. The August broadcast also revealedPokemon’s new Terastal Raids feature a departure fromPokemon’s traditional combat formula, mixing turn-based and real-time combat. Between new characters, new creatures, and a vast region to explore, fans have plenty to look forward to whenScarlet and Violetlaunch later this year.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwill release on November 18th for the Nintendo Switch.
