The Knight Witchdoes not have a standard difficulty mode, which sounds bad. As this is a bullet hell shooter mixed with a Metroidvania, things will indeed get tough quickly. However, the game doesn’t need a difficulty system because it has brought back the long-lost art of including in-game cheats.

It’s truly a throwback to the golden era of gamessince assist modesin games have sort of taken the place of cheat codes. There are eight cheats in total inThe Knight Witchwhich can essentially turn the main character, Rayne, into a god. What are the eight, what are the passcodes to get them, and what strategies can players employ with them? All that and more will be answered in this handy little breakdown.
8Invulnerability
Invulnerability is as exactly as it sounds, which will make Rayne impervious to damage. She can be affected by attacks though in a few small ways. For example, players can purchase armor in shops that work in a variety of ways and most crumble after Rayne is hit once.
While this cheat is turned on, armor will disappear as usual, but health will not be affected in any way. This is the ultimate cheat fora classic shootersuch asThe Knight Witch. Invulnerability can be unlocked with the code input of Yellow, Blue, Green, and Purple.

7Unlimited Mana
Besides the health system, players also have to keep track of their magic points via the Mana system. Mana is used when activating spell cards, which can range from devastating attacks to defensive shields. Unlimited Mana allows players to cast card after card without much of a delay.
Each spell slot will still run on a cooldown like ina typical RPGwith skills, but at least casting a spell will not use up any Mana. Unlimited Mana can be unlocked with the code input of Blue, Purple, Purple, and Blue.

6Enemies Sometimes Drop Health
Enemies Sometimes Drop Health is a mouthful for a cheat, but its use should also be obvious. Players can primarily heal by gathering hearts left behind in crates. This cheat makes it possible for enemies to drop hearts along with the usual balls of Mana and Shards.

Oddly, the cheat doesn’t guarantee health drops as it seems quite rare based on current experience. For those concerned with health, the Invulnerability cheat seems like the wiser one to equip. Enemies Sometimes Drop Health can be unlocked with the code input of four Purples, which is the simplest of the whole bunch.
5Double Shard Drops
Double Shard Drops is another drop-based cheat like the health one, but its use is far more valuable. Shards are the currency in this universe that can be used for a variety of things. Players can purchase the aforementioned sets of armor that will boost their health temporarily. They can eventually clone cards and buy other useful upgrades for Rayne as well.
The more Shards players acquire, the faster they can beef up Rayne, which is abasic money tipfor an RPG or games that have these elements. Double Shard Drops can be unlocked with the code input of Green, Green, Yellow, and Yellow.

4Glass Rayne
Invulnerability will turn Rayne into a god, makingThe Knight Witcha breeze for the more casual crowd. The game can be intimidating as most bullet hell shooters tend to be. That’s why the inclusion of cheats is so great, as it can help even the playing field.
Whatabout shooter veteransthat find the game too easy? That’s where the Glass Rayne cheat comes into play as it will crank up the difficulty considerably as Rayne will die after getting hit once. Glass Rayne can be unlocked with the code input of Blue, Green, Yellow, and Purple.

3Unlimited Weapon Durability
Rayne’s basic attack will mirror that of a gun as she fires bullet-like energy at enemies. There are ways to permanently upgrade her attack power and the speed of these spelled bullets, but there are temporary power-ups too. For example, there is one that mirrors that of a machine gun.

These temporary power-ups can be found in the environment or they can be found in the form of a spell card. It’s like picking up a new gun inshooters likeContra. Unlimited Weapon Durability makes it so these temporary upgrades become permanent, or until the next power-up is used. Unlimited Weapon Durability can be unlocked with the code input of Yellow, Blue, Yellow, and Yellow.
2Slower Enemy Bullets
Slower Enemy Bullets is a cheat that will reduce the speed of enemy projectiles coming toward Rayne. It’s not a dramatic upgrade that will make the game a cakewalk if this is the only cheat equipped. It will give players more time to react to enemy attacks, but they still need to actively dodge through streams of energy like a bullet hell master.
It’s a shame there wasn’t more of a slowdown or a sliding scale to how slow things get, but the cheat does have its uses along with its limitations. Slower Enemy Bullets can be unlocked with the code input of Green, Purple, Green, and Purple.

1Show Damage Numbers
Show Damage Numbers is the final cheat inThe Knight Witchand it will bring numbers into the mix. This cheat is kind of useless as most enemies will go down in a few hits. Bosses have energy bars already, giving players something to look at so they can keep track of their progress.
As odd as this cheat is, some players may feel comforted knowing how much damage a certain spell card does. This could have existed in the options as it usuallydoes in RPGs, but it’s good to know it’s here in some capacity. Show Damage Numbers can be unlocked with the code input of Purple, Yellow, Green, and Blue.

The Knight Witchwas released on July 29, 2025, and is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
