Actor Cameron Corvetti has been bumped up to a series regular on the popular superhero satire,The Boys,according to Deadline. Along with this announcement, two new cast members will be joining the series for season 4. InThe Boys,Corvetti plays Ryan Butcher, the biological son ofseries antagonist Homelander(Antony Starr). Ryan was previously a recurring character in seasons 2 and 3 ofThe Boys,but now he’s been bumped up to a series regular.
Actors Valorie Curry (The Lost Symbol) and Susan Heyward (Orange Is The New Black)will also be joining the series as new superhero characters. Curry will reportedly be playing a supe named Firecracker, and Heyward will be playing Sister Sage. Neither of the characters areadapted from the comicthat the series is based on, so at the moment, nothing is known about these new supes.

Corvetti is also known for his breakout role as one of the twin sons of Nicole Kidman andAlexander Skarsgard’scharacters in the award-winning HBO seriesBig Little Lies. He also starred alongside his twin brother Nicolas in Prime Video’s horror filmGoodnight Mommy,and he’s slated to star in the highly anticipated action-thrillerBoy Kills World.Curry recently starred in thePeacock seriesThe Lost Symbolopposite Eddie Izzard and Ashley Zukerman She also starred in the Amazon comedy seriesThe Tick, opposite Griffin Newman and Peter Serafinowicz. She is also set to star opposite Finn Wittrock and Rita Wilson in the upcoming film,Start Without Me.Heyward is best known for her role as Tamika Ward in the final two seasons of the popularNetflixseriesOrange Is The New Black.She also recently starred in the OWN seriesDelilahand will also be featured in the upcoming Apple TV+ series,Hello, Tomorrow.
Based on the bestselling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson,The Boyswas developed byshowrunner Eric Kripke,whose other credits include the popular CW show,Supernatural. The series takes place in a fictional world where superheroes exist, but are far from heroic. The first three seasons focused on protagonist Hughie (Jack Quaid) who is recruited by the brutish Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) to help him and his team take down corrupt superheroes.
The series is known for itspitch-black comedyand brutal violence. Season 3 saw the series embrace even more satirical elements, drawing from many real-world events including the 2016 presidential election. The popularity of the series has generated several spinoffs, including the animated anthology seriesDiabolical,and the upcoming college-themed series,Gen V.The last time fans saw Ryan he was grinning ominously after his father, Homelander, brutally murdered a man in public. With the character being bumped up to a series regular it’s likely fans will see a lot for a Ryan going forward, for better or for worse.
