Dragon’s Dogma 2is an action RPG where, although the game is only single-player, the playthrough of the title feels full of life due to the three pawns players can recruit to join them on their adventure. Alongsideselecting what classeswould be best to make up the player’s team, pawns can also be given select specializations or be recruited with them already.

These tomes allow the player to give their pawn a purpose that can help them in various situations ofDragon’s Dogma 2. With this in mind, this is every pawn specialization, ranked on how useful it is during the player’s adventure.

6Aphonite

They Will Never Talk

The least useful specialization of all in Dragon’s Dogma 2 has to be the Aphonite specialization. Pawns that have read from this tome will hardly speak to the Arisen unless it’s important. While this may be great for a player who has grown tired of the constant banter between all the pawns, compared to the other specializations in this action RPG, the Aphonite brings nothing to the table.

Its only purpose is to keep that pawn quiet, which can make traveling between places inDragon’s Dogma 2feel very lonely. Players may wish to avoid this specialization entirely on their travels.

5Hawker

Purchase The Player’s Unwanted Items

Another available specialization that is arguably quite useless is the Hawker specialization. Pawns that have learned from this tome have the ability topurchase random itemsfrom the player for gold.

This specialization is also quite limiting, as the option for the pawns to buy anything from the player only becomes available if the Arisen is carrying too many things and the group is resting at a campsite. A player is more likely to just sell what they want when they arrive in a town, especially as they have no control over what the pawn wants to buy.

4Woodland Wordsmith

Understands Elvish

Players are likely to encounter Elves during their adventure inDragon’s Dogma 2.However, as they aren’t an elf themselves, the player will be unable to understand anything these people are saying. This can make purchasing from them or talking to these people very difficult. Thankfully, the Woodland Wordsmith specialization is here to help.

With this tome learned, players can now read the subtitles for the elves they are speaking to and have a much easier time communicating with them. However, a player should not give this specialization to their own pawn but instead, recruit apawn with this specializationwhen they are roaming these areas.

The Forager specialization in Dragon’s Dogma 2

3Forager

Highlights Materials For The Player

Players need various materials to not only enhance their gear but also to craft the various curatives needed to survive in battle inDragon’s Dogma 2.While many of the materials needed a player is likely to find easily on their adventures, having a pawn with the Forager specialization is still useful for pointing outwhere some of those rarer suppliescan be found.

Players should now see crystals on their map, which is where these materials can be found. This specialization is perfect to be combined with the Simple inclination, as it causes the pawn to gather more items and therefore pick up the materials they point out to the player.

2Logistician

Allows The Pawn To Craft

The Logistician specialization is quite a double-edged sword when it comes to how useful it is. Players who are sick and tired of spending time crafting various things in their inventory will love the Logistician as this pawn will take it into their own hands to craft various random things from the materials that are to be found in everyone’s inventory.

However, players also have no control overwhat is created, which could risk valuable material being wasted to be made into something the player is unlikely to use.

A Mage pawn with the Chirurgeon specialization in Dragon’s Dogma 2

1Chirurgeon

Uses Curatives On The Arisen And Allies

Out of all the available specializations for pawns inDragon’s Dogma 2,by far the best of the bunch and the most useful is the Chirurgeon specialization. A pawn with this is able to use various curatives on their fellow pawns and the Arisen. This means the player no longer has to worry about their allies going down during combat as often, as the pawn with Chirurgeon will go around handing pawns potions to heal orremove various effectsfrom them too.

The Chirurgeon specialization goes hand-in-hand with the Kindhearted inclination, as these pawns prioritize supporting their allies. Which is only made more useful with being able to use curative items too.
