As the name might suggest,Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesstransitions into many alternate dimensions. That’s one of the most fun things in a movie with a premise like this. Unfortunately,Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessdoes not spend much time in other dimensions. There are three major realities. Earth-616 is the main MCU dimension fans have grown to know and love. Then there are two more with major roles in the movie. The coolest ones are barely touched upon but are still worth mentioning.

Warning. The following list contains spoilers!

8The Book Of The Vishanti’s Universe

This is the first universe viewers will see inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Book of the Vishanti is like the whole MacGuffin of the movie. It’s one of two with the other being America Chavez, who has the innate power of going through universes without the assistance of a machine.

This scene opens with America and a version of Doctor Strange fighting a monster on their way tothe mystical book. This version of Strange has some ice powers which was cool to see. He also knows Spanish, which comes back as a great joke later on. There’s not much to this pocket dimension but it is important.

7America’s Universe

Fans will get to see a very brief snippet of America’s universe when she steps on the Memory Lane button in Earth-838. Her planet looks a lot like the one inAvatar. It’s bright and colorful, almost alien-like. Everything seems to be rich in vegetation too, which is good.

It would be worse if America came from a reality where everything was polluted. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been back because she has been looking for her parents for so long. She accidentally sent them into one of her star-shaped universe holes. Hopefully, the MCU returns to America’s world for longer at some point in the future.

Traveling into different dimensions in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

6Jurassic Parkverse

This is one of the only dimensions that is teased in the trailer forDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The first time Earth-616 Strange jumps into a portal with America, they flip through at least twenty dimensions, if not more. Since this movie is still in theaters, it can be hard to see everything without the assistance of pausing.

Every dimension they go through is also only onscreen for a few seconds. All fans can see in this dinosaur world is a T-Rex fighting something else. Did humanity die out and dinosaurs thrive instead? Are humans dinosaurs? For example, is there a T-Rex version of Strange? The mind races at the possibilitiesfor the MCU.

5The Vintage Filmverse

Another universe that is shown briefly in this first inter-dimensional jump looks like an old movie. The movie quality dips and the screen goes brown. Does this mean that this universe is completely silent? Does everyone speak with text that fades in and fades out of memory with an old piano playing in the background?

It would be interesting to watch an MCU movie in a world like this. It might be too much for a typical two-hour tour, but maybe it could make for afun short adventurein the nextWhat Ifseries. The firstCaptain Americadid go black and white for the propaganda movies, after all. It’s not a silent movie, but it is close.

4The Splatooniverse

This universe might be the wildest shown inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It turns Strange and America into colorful gobs of ink. They look like they came fromSplatoon. Whether that is intentional or not, that sounds like a good crossover for the upcoming sequel.

Splatoon 3 could try to add in Marvel characters ona seasonal basislikeFortnite. If it works forFortnitethen it should work forSplatoon 3. This is one of the only universes Strange asks America about. Her best reply to this was, “It’s really hard to eat in there.” Does that mean people do eat?

3The Spider-Verse

There is another colorful universe shown in this dimensional jump and it is animated. The art style looks like Strange and America jumped intoSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The first moviefocused on other versionsof Spider-Man coming through.

It would be interesting if the sequel,Across the Spider-Verse, took in more MCU characters. Technically that movie isn’t part of the MCU. That doesn’t mean that they can’t borrow characters like Strange and America for cameos though. If this doesn’t happen, the MCU should get a full-length animated movie instead of just having theWhat Ifshow. They could do their own version ofInto the Spider-Verseand have America be the star.

2Darkhold Strange’s Universe

The last new universe that is shown inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessbelongs to a version of Doctor Strange that got possessed by the Darkhold. The world looks like it was completely ripped in two thanks to Strange’spowers going out of control.

Cars are flying around. Buildings are half torn apart. The sky is a vortex. It’s like an interactive art installation. It is also reminiscent of the mirror universe that Strange likes to fight in. There doesn’t seem to be much hope for this version of Strange and his world. It’s an endless void but still cool to see.

Doctor Strange from What If

1Earth-838

Earth-838 is the main multiverse thatDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesstakes place in. It’s where Earth-616 Strange and America land after their first jump. Everything looks cleaner than Earth-616 since flowers are growing naturally everywhere. It’s a beautiful world, but the reason why it is the coolest dimension inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessis that there are a lot of surprise guests as part of the Illuminati.

There are alternate versions ofCaptain AmericaandCaptain Marvel. Mordo returns but not as a villain. A new character, Black Bolt, is seen. The two most hype character moments belong to Reed Richards and Professor X though. Getting to see theFantastic FourandX-Menfinally get represented in the MCU was like a dream come true forfans of the marvel movies.
