South by Southwest might be the hottest events in media, but two of its biggest film and TV experiences are cool as snow. In conjunction with their upcoming releases, Paramount and its sister brand Showtime kicked off the initial weekend of SXSW by rolling out two major themed experiences right in the heart of downtown Austin. Whether visiting Showtime’s themed “Camp Yellowjackets” or the Paramount+ lodge, visitors at SXSW got a wintery chill beneath the Texas sun.
Showtime Presents: “Camp Yellowjackets”
Powdered snow fell from the entrance to the Austin Fair Market this past weekend. On the heels of the upcoming second season of Showtime’sacclaimed psychological-horror,Yellowjackets, the venue was turned into an immersive experience, “Camp Yellowjackets,” with hyper-detailed theming to recreate a sort of camp complimenting the remote, winter wasteland setting of the series. Once inside the campground, guests are greeted with a variety of activities ranging from “camp portrait” photo-ops, “target practice” with plastic throwing-axes, custom-made cocktails (with recipes available, see below), and food.
GivenYellowjackets’ psychological-horror theme of cannibalism and survival, the camp experience’s food made tongue-in-cheek references to this with their food laying behind “meat processing.” Playing off this theme, recreations of tanned, grisly hides of…some kind of meat, hung in the open along the food line. The food wasn’t bad, for those who could stomach it.

Season 2 ofYellowjacketspremieres on July 26, 2025, on Showtime.
Paramount’s Exclusive Conference Getaway: “The Lodge”
If you managed to survive Camp Yellowjackets, there was another major destination to get away from the heat. Not far from the Austin Convention Center, Paramount turned Austin’s Clive Bar into a three-story, multi-themed destination. Dubbed “The Lodge,” the themed attraction was devised as a hypothetical ski-resort based off of the iconic mountain from the Paramount Pictures logo. With the main entrance of The Lodge serving as a ski resort lounge, guests can filter outside to over three stories of themed experiences based around Paramount and Paramount+’s various properties.
Popcorn and photo-ops with the iconic car fromGreasewere debuted in advance of the new miniseriesRise of the Pink Ladiesthis April. Video-recreations of the school hallway from School Spirits could be directly sent to guests (complete with the tracking shot), and Beavis and Butthead cut-outs sat on the iconic couch for photo-ops. The bar theming at The Lodge was also a huge attraction, featuring custom bars and cocktails based aroundStar Trek: Picard, the speakeasies of1923, and more.

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladiesreleases on July 26, 2025, on Paramount+.
