A supposed leak claiming to reveal the games set to be featured during the upcomingXboxevent on June 11 has causedScaleboundto trend on Twitter.Xboxwill be hosting its annual Xbox Showcase event on June 11 at 10am PT. Anyone interested in finding out what the future of Xbox has in store will definitely want to tune in to the event, but it’s possible some of the big reveals will leak ahead of time.WhileE3 2023 is canceled, there are still plenty of events taking place the next couple of months that are essentially E3-equivalents. PlayStation will be hosting its showcase on May 24, Xbox is on June 11 as previously mentioned, and a Ubisoft Forward event is scheduled to take place on June 12. Other events will be happening through Summer Game Fest as well, so gamers should have plenty of exciting announcements to look forward to in the near future.RELATED:This Year’s Xbox Showcase Could Be Different in One Key WayWhenever this time of year rolls around, all kinds of “leaks” hit the Internet. Some of these leaks are eventually proven accurate, but the vast majority of them are completely fake. One such “leak” has claimed to reveal the full lineup for the Xbox Showcase on June 11, but fans should take it with a massive grain of salt. It claims thatAvowed,Starfield,Fable,State of Decay 3,Hollow Knight Silksong,Overdose,Everwild,Quake,Hellblade 2,Scalebound,Contraband,Killer Instinct,Wolfenstein 3,Forza Motorsport,Midnight,Fallout: New Vegas 2,Halo"Tatanka,“Halo 3 Anniversary, andCyberpunk 2077DLCwill all be at the show.
Despite how fake-sounding this leaked lineup is, many have taken it at face value, causingScaleboundto trend online. Those excited by the lineup should note, however, that there are multiple red flags that point to it being completely fake. Just going down the list in order,Starfieldis having its own event after the Xbox Showcase ends,Hollow Knight Silksongis misspelled and claimed to be a timed exclusive, and thecanceledScaleboundis claimed to be a shadow drop.Forza Motorsportis said to be in development at Playground Games when it’s being made by Turn 10, and theMidnightgame is listed as having a “TBA” developer.
Other red flags include a supposed shadow drop for therumoredHalobattle royale"Tatanka,” yet it apparently doesn’t even have an official title, and the claim thatHalo 3 Anniversaryis coming even though 2023 is not a significant anniversary year for the 2007 FPS. It’s also extremely unlikely thatCyberpunk 2077DLC will be exclusive to Xbox for three months as the image claims.
While there’s perhaps a 1% chance that this is real, it’s almost certainly fake and should be treated as such. Xbox gamers will just have to tune in to theXbox Showcase on June 11to see for themselves what’s in store.
