Like any manga series, the debut of a new character and their ability always leads to debates within the fanbase. Since a lot of new individuals have debuted in the story, the list has been updated to include thosewho can be considered the strongest One Piece characters.
Only characters who are alive have been included in the list.
36Dorry
Strengths: Superhuman Strength
Dorry, also known as Blue Ogre, is the co-captain of the Giant Warrior Pirates. As a giant, Dorry possesses superhuman strength, which allows him to fight against dinosaurs and all kinds of gigantic creatures.
Dorry uses a sword in combat, and one strike from the weapon can send an entire pirate crew to an early grave. Dorry proved his strength in the Egghead arc, where he faced the Five Elders, and helped the Straw Hat Pirates escape the island in one piece.
35Brogy
Brogy was introduced before the timeskip, and at the time, fans had no idea that he was an insane fighter. Since he is a giant, Brogy’s strength is far superior to most One Piece characters.
Brogy is seen carrying a massive ax, and he can easily destroy a ship with a single swing. Brogy is strong on his own, but when he teams up with Dorry, their destructive power increases by severalfold. This was evident when the two performed a combined attack to destroy Victoria Punk, the ship of Eustass Kid.
34Bartholomew Kuma
Strengths: Devil Fruit, Haki, Modified Body
Bartholomew Kuma is not just a strong person but also one of the best-written characters in One Piece. He is the last surviving member of the Buccaneer race, an ancient group that was executed by the World Government for its transgressions.
Bartholomew Kuma possesses the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that grants a myriad of abilities. For starters, Kuma’s palms develop paw-like pads. He can use them to deflect incoming attacks and send people flying at incredible speeds. Kuma can also use the power to draw out all the physical pain from a person’s body, making them healthy.
33Shiryu
Strengths: Devil Fruit
Shiryu is the Titanic Captain of the second ship of the Blackbeard Pirates. He joined the crew after Blackbeard and his crew broke into Impel Down to free the most notorious criminals. Shiryu is a maniac who loves killing, as proven by his sadistic actions while he was serving as the chief jailer of Impel Down.
Prior to the timeskip, Shiryu was considered to be on the same level as Magellan, who nearly wrecked the entire Blackbeard Pirates by himself. Shiryu grew stronger after eating a Devil Fruit. He possesses the Suke Suke no Mi, which allows him to turn invisible. With this ability, Shiryu can launch devastating attacks and mortally wound his enemies.
32Jozu
Strengths: Haki, Devil Fruit
Jozu was the Third Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. He joined the crew while he was still very young. Over time, he became someone that Whitebeard could rely on in times of peril. Jozu possesses the Kira Kira no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to transform any part of his body into diamonds.
As diamond is the strongest occurring substance in nature, it drastically enhances Jozu’s defense. This was evident when he casually nullified Mihawk’s slash. Jozu’s physical abilities are on a different level. Despite his size, Jozu is fast enough to blitz Crocodile and Kuzan, both of whom are elite fighters in their own right. Jozu’s physical strength allowed him to throw a gigantic boulder of ice at the Marines. The boulder dwarfed even the giants, which goes to show that Jozu was not an ordinary fighter.
31King
Strengths: Special Lineage, Devil Fruit
King was the right-hand man of Kaido. In the past, he was a test subject for the World Government. King was subjected to all kinds of experiments by scientists as they wanted to utilize his Lunarian lineage. Thankfully, he broke out with Kaido, after which he became his most loyal follower.
King ate the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pteranodon, an Ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allowed him to turn into a prehistoric predator. King could fly at blistering speeds, which made it difficult for his opponents to land a hit on him. King’s other physical attributes were on a different level from those of most characters in the series. He was so resilient that Zoro had to use an attack powered by Conqueror’s Haki to cut him.
30Rob Lucci
Strengths: Devil Fruit, Rokushiki
Despite his failure in Enies Lobby, Rob Lucci was promoted to CP0, and that too as a masked agent. From a young age, Lucci trained hard to become a hardened killer. In time, he mastered the Rokushiki and combined it with his Devil Fruit power.
Lucci’s Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Leopard is a carnivorous Zoan-type Devil Fruit. This gives him more attacking power than a herbivorous Zoan. Over the years, Lucci has participated in many battles, which has helped him gain valuable experience. It also enabled him to awaken his Devil Fruit.
Strengths: Devil Fruit, Haki
Crocodile is one of the two leaders of the Cross Guild. He was the main antagonist in the Alabasta arc. Crocodile is extremely cunning, and he was able to trick the entire Kingdom of Alabasta into believing that Cobra was responsible for the lack of rain.
Crocodile also possesses the Suna Suna no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit, which allows him to create and control sand. Using his powers, Crocodile can drain moisture from the body of a person, leaving them on the cusp of death. He can also create strong sand storms that can send opponents flying. Since Crocodile has been in the Grand Line for such a long period of time, he should have access to at least two types of Haki.
28Edward Weevil
Strengths: Immense Physical Strength
Edward Weevil is the self-proclaimed son of Whitebeard. He strongly believes that he is the only heir to Whitebeard’s fortune, but a lot of it is due to his mother’s manipulation. Despite there being doubts about his parentage, Weevil does share a few similarities with Whitebeard. For starters, both of them have a white mustache.
The next big thing that they have in common is their strength. In his prime, Whitebeard was considered unstoppable. Only Roger was able to go neck-and-neck with Whitebeard. Admiral Kizaru pointed out that Weevil’s strength reminded him of a young Whitebeard. This is a big compliment, considering how powerful he was.
27Charlotte Katakuri
Charlotte Katakuri is the strongest Sweet Commander of the Big Mom Pirates. Before fighting Luffy, he boasted an unbeaten record, which was extremely impressive. Unlike many strong characters, Katakuri was not arrogant, and he kept Luffy at an arm’s distance with his Future Sight.
He did not take any risks and tried his best to maintain composure. Aside from Future Sight, Katakuri also excelled at using Armament Haki. He has also awakened his Mochi Mochi no Mi, which gave him many attacking options. Luffy had to use Snakeman and Future Sight to get the better of this behemoth.
