After winning over the hearts ofStranger Thingsfans as Eddie Munson, Joseph Quinn is now poised to joinA Quiet Place: Day One. The upcoming film is a prequel toParamount’sA Quiet Placefranchise and already has Lupita Nyong’o on board.
Paramount’sA Quiet Placetold the story of a father and mother, played byJohn Krasinski and Emily Blunt, as they struggled to raise and protect their children in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monstrous creatures. Complicating an already impossible situation is that these monsters make up for their blindness by having an acute sense of hearing, which forces survivors to remain silent at all times.

Deadlinereports that Quinn is currently in negotiations to star inA Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel to the aforementioned film that will presumably take place on the first day of the invasion. As was the case whenNyong’o joinedA Quiet Place: Day One, precise details on Quinn’s character in the prequel were not divulged, though it was described as a leading role. While the story for the prequel is based on an idea by Krasinski, neither he nor Blunt are expected to reprise their roles fromA Quiet Place.
After directingA Quiet Placeand its sequel, Krasinski will also be sitting out of the director’s chair for the first time in the franchise. Instead,Michael Sarnoski will directA Quiet Place: Day Onein addition to writing the screenplay. Paramount hopes the prequel will be a launching point for aQuiet PlaceUniverse that can be built on over the coming years. That said,A Quiet Place Part 3, a continuation of the original story established by the first film, is still slated for a 2025 release.
Though fans may be wary ofA Quiet Placebeing the last franchise to get its own universe, this should hardly surprise fans. The first film was a hit with critics and at the box office and althoughA Quiet Place Part 2was one of the first cinematic casualties of the COVID-19 pandemic, it still managed to perform respectably when it was eventually released in theaters.
Besides, Sarnoski recently proved himself with the release ofPig, a dramamovie starring Nicolas Cageas a reclusive truffle-hunter who returns to the city after his beloved pet pig is stolen. The film was acclaimed by critics and even earned Cage awards from various film critics' associations.
A Quiet Place: Day Oneis scheduled to be released in theaters on August 02, 2025.
