Players will pick up quite a few skills as they make their way throughSoul Hackers 2, with many of them helping players through particularly difficult combat encounters and quests. But some added skills are only usable outside of combat and will help players with small quality-of-life boosts that can make traversing the overworld and exploring dungeons much easier to navigate as a product. These special unlockables, called Map Skills, are activated outside of combat by expending some MP but can make a world of difference when it comes to navigating maps, thanks to their buffs.
There are a handful of these skills available and players will need to do some specific things if they want to get their hands on all of them. The following guide will showcase all the Map Skills we uncovered inSoul Hackers 2and how players can unlock them for themselves. Here’s a look at the best Map Skills available inSoul Hackers 2and how to get them.

It’s important to note that players will have a choice on what skills they wish to unlock each time they defeat a boss in a character’s given Soul Matrix. Because of this, some players may unlock map skills sooner than others. The following guide will show where players can receive the skill but it is ultimately up to them when they wish to unlock it.
Assassin’s Step
One of the most useful Map Skills is Assassin’s Step. When activated, Ringo will receive a small speed boost, allowing players to traverse maps even faster than before. This can be exceptionally useful when players are attempting to backtrack through a specific area or know exactly where they’re going and want to get there quickly. Best of all, Assassin’s Step works in hub areas, allowing players to run to shops and navigate these zones faster. The extra boost of speed can be absolutely game-changing, allowing players to quickly sidestep enemy encounters and cover large distances in a shorter period of time.
Traesto
Easily the second-best Map Skill available (or the first depending on how much players enjoy upgrading their equipment), Traesto offers incredible utility to players by allowing them to immediately exit a Dungeon and return to the overworld. This means players can quickly escape if they find themselves lacking healing items or in need of some weapon upgrades, without having to backtrack out of the area. With such a low cost, players can use this wherever and whenever they need to. It is important to note, however, that players will need to reapply any food buffs if they use Traesto as it will cause the buff to disappear.
Coercive Glare
One of the best (and worst) pre-combat mechanics that players have access to is the chance for Bonus Attacks. If players strike an enemy with Ringo’s weapon and then engage in combat with them, they’ll get a free first attack. Unfortunately, enemies also have access to this skill, and if players find themselves jumped by an enemy from behind, they’ll be Ambushed. These Ambush encounters being with the enemy getting a free attack on the party, which can be painful at times. Thankfully, players can tilt the scales in their favor by using Coercive Glare. Activating this Map Skill will make it less likely that players can be Ambushed and make it easier for them to hit Bonus Attacks on enemies.
Slowma
Slowma can be extremely helpful in areas where players are struggling to make it past a slew of enemies. As players progress further into the game, they may not want to deal with every single encounter they come across, especially when they’re attempting to get to a specific area. Slowma comes in handy as activating it will cause enemies (on the dungeon map, prior to combat) to move slower, allowing players to quickly juke around them and avoid a combat encounter.
Estoma
Estoma is a bit of a niche Map Skill, but it can still be useful in the right situations. When it’s activated, enemies that are three levels below Ringo will not appear anywhere on a Dungeon map. This makes it much easier for players to grind out levels, as they won’t be encountering “weaker” enemies. Players that are looking for a challenge to test out their latest skills, or want to increase their EXP as quickly as possible without having to deal with the riff-raff, should use this Map Skill.
Riberama
In addition to Estoma, players looking to grind out additional levels or test their skills can snag Riberama. When activated, this Map Skill will make it so that enemies will appear to Ringo more often (on the Dungeon map). This makes it easier to get into combat encounters and farm for EXP, better upgrading characters and Demons. Riberama is also incredibly useful when players are attempting to farm enemies for Materials, to help unlock new weapon upgrades and Special Effects.
