Similar to some previously released updates, this new PS5 software version also improves system performance. Even though it doesn’t add any new features, Push Square mentions that players will need to install it to sign back into PSN.

Version 23.01-07.60.00for the PS5 console came out in July 2023, making improvements to the system’s stability and performance. Similar updates have been released numerous times in the console’s lifecycle, with version from the June also making stability enhancements. Overall, this new update seems to be the latest addition in the list of stability improvements Sony has released for the console.

PS5 owners should note that Sony will release a major update in the future that adds more notable features. As an example, thenew PS5 updatewill add haptic feedback to the console’s menu, while also increasing the M.2 SSD capacity to 8 TB. PlayStation fans will also be able to turn off the beeping sound that plays when starting the system.
