TheDragonbornDLC forSkyrimis, alongsideDawnguard, one of thebest experiences in the game. It takes players back to Solstheim, the setting forMorrowind’sBloodmoonDLC, to face off against Miraak, an ancient Dragon Priest who claims to be the First Dragonborn.

The DLC has a huge scope, and adds a ton of new weapons, armors, materials, characters, locations, and questlines toSkyrim. It also adds four new shouts, three of which can be found out in the mainland of Solstheim and the other found during the DLC’s main questline. Some are better than others, though all four are generally stronger than the vanilla game’s offerings.
Battle Fury
The Battle Fury shout is an extremely useful one for close-quarters combat players to learn. It increases Attack Speed significantly, turning the game’s relatively slow melee combat into a flurry of steel (at least, from the player’s perspective). Each of the three words to this shout is found in Vahlok’s Tomb, just south of Skaal Village.

The issue with Vahlok’s Tomb is that itcannot be entered via normal means. Players must head to Skaal Village and start the quest “A New Source Of Stalhrim” by talking to Deor Woodcutter. Once this has been completed, the rubble on top of the tomb clears and reveals the entrance. Then, the quest “Lost Legacy” can be started, which sees players escort another Skaal villager Tharstan through the tomb.
Bend Will
The Bend Will shout is one ofSkyrim’s most powerful,though it’s surprisinghow many enemies are unaffected by it. Bend Will essentially forces NPCs hit by the shout to do the player’s bidding for a short duration. At three words, the player can even command Dragons, allowing them to become rideable flying mounts and a necessary power for the final part of theDragonbornDLC.
The first word is learned in Saering’s Watch, a location the player visits towards the end of theDragonbornDLC’s main questline. The quest “The Fate Of The Skaal” sees the player visit Saering’s Watch to learn this first word. The second two words are learned from Hermaeus Mora directly from a Black Book and in Skaal Village during this main questline.
Cyclone
The Cyclone shout is, by all accounts,an upgraded versionof the Unrelenting Force shout. Unrelenting Force pushes enemies back and forces them to take a few seconds to get up when all three words are used. The Cyclone shout, on the other hand, launches enemies into the air at the slightest touch of a vortex hurled forth by the player, ragdolling them and causing significant damage.

Words to this shout are found in Benkongerike, a Riekling cave to the southeast of Saering’s Watch, in Kolhborn Barrow, just southeast of Raven Rock, and in White Ridge Sanctum, a sub-area of White Ridge Barrow on the northern end of Solstheim.
Dragon Aspect
The Dragon Aspect shout is useful for just about any melee-oriented class, though it can still beincredibly useful for castersand rangers, too. Dragon Aspect dramatically increases a player’s Armor Rating, melee damage, and the power of their shouts. It also shrouds the player in an ethereal blue-orange glow that looks stunning in third person.
Words to this shout are found in Raven Rock Mine just outside Raven Rock, in the Temple of Miraak, and in Apocrypha just before fighting Miraak himself.
