But as with other side quests in Sekiro, it’s not particularly obvious how to complete his quests and the ethics involved are a bit questionable. Here’s how players can complete Anayama the Peddler’s side quest and what they actually get for it.
Should Players Give Anayama Sen?
Players should give Anayama the Peddler 10 and then 20 Sen to start his side quest. This is a small investment that gets players a big return. It also unlocks the next step in his side quest, which unlocks more valuable items in his stock.
How to Help Anayama in Sekiro
The second part of Anayama’s side quest sees him ask Wolf to do a bit of market research for him. He wants to find out whatGenichiro and the Ashina Clan’s samurai are needing as they battle the Interior Ministry.
The answer is that the Ashina samurai are desperately needing salt. Wolf can discover this by eavesdropping on two samurai talking in Ashina Castle near the Old Grave Sculptor Idol. The two samurai are on a bridge discussing how poorly the war is going, with one saying they need salt to treat wounds and preserve corpses.

Bringing this information to Anayama will advance his questline. Rest at a Sculptor’s Idol to initiate the next part of his quest.
Should Kotaro Be Sent To Anayama?
After telling him about the salt, Anayama says that he needs an assistant. The only option players have for this is sending Senpou Monk Kotaro to him.Kotaro is found weepingnear the start of the Senpou Temple area. Kotaro has a questline of his own with three possible endings.
Players get the biggest rewards by sending Kotaro to Anayama. Sending Kotaro to Anayama unlocks anumber of upgrade materialsin his shop alongside Ako’s Sugar. These items will not appear if Kotaro isn’t sent to him.
Regardless of whether players send Kotaro to Anayama, Anayama‘s quest and his availability as a merchant will end once the Interior Ministry begins the siege of Ashina Castle. If players sent him Kotaro, he will let players purchase the Promissory Note, an item that gives a 10% discount when buying from all merchants.
