Christian Bale is on his journey from the DC Universe to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and fans are absolutely loving it. After appearing inThe Dark Knighttrilogy, the actor will be starring as the main villain in Marvel Studios' upcoming filmThor: Love and Thunder. Some photos from the set ofThor 4in California have now leaked online, offering a first look at Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher.
WhileThor 4filming had wrapped in June, as confirmed by Chris Hemsworth himself, the cast and crew have returned to the sets for additional photography. It seems like Bale was one of the cast members called back when he was snapped by the paparazzi and the images of him in costume have gone viral on social media.

IntheThor 4set images, which were first shared byDaily Mail, Bale is almost unrecognizable as he walks around in a grey, flowy outfit along with some kind of prosthetic and makeup. In one of the shots, he is seen donning a black robe, which is similar to the one the character wears in the comics. Fans were ecstatic to see theThor 4images because they expected Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher suit to be mostly created via CGI, but it appears they got a lot more than they thought.
In the comics,Gorr the God Butcheris on a journey to seek revenge on all the Gods who failed to answer his prayers and save his family from dying due to starvation. He travels around the cosmos for thousands of years, looking for any Gods that he can find and kill, which is why he is referred to as the God Butcher. After killing many Gods, he finally arrives on Earth, which is where he encounters Thor.While the details of theThor 4plot are being kept under wraps, fans assume thatLove and Thunderwill follow the plot line from the comics. However, it remains to be seen how closely the film will adapt Gorr the God Butcher’s backstory.
The MCU has modified origin stories in the past, despite taking direct inspiration from the comics. No matterwhat directionThor 4takesGorr the God Butcher in, fans are looking forward to seeing the live-action adaptation of the character who was introduced in the comics almost a decade ago. And with an acclaimed actor like Bale on board, it is bound to be an epic performance.
