Summary
The upcoming live-actionSpider-Manseries,Spider-Man Noir, remains largely a mystery. However, a recent scoop might have unveiled significant plot details, including the series' main villain.
The announcement of Prime Video’sSpider-Man Noirseries surprised many, but excitement is gradually building. New rumors suggest that the plot synopsis has allegedly leaked, revealing who might be the perfect villain.

According to Daniel Richtman (via ComicBookMovie), the live-action series has a lot in store forSpider-Manfans. The industry insider alleged that two major characters, the villain Silvermane and the femme fatale Wraith, will play significant roles in the series. Additionally, the insider revealed a snippet of the previously unknown synopsis.
The first name mentioned in the synopsis, Silvermane, might be less familiar toSpider-Manfans. In theSpider-Mancomics, Silvio Manfredi, known as Silvermane, is the leader of anorganized crime family called the Maggia. Initially, he has no superpowers and is just a powerful crime boss, but he later becomes a cyborg in an attempt to extend his lifespan. It is unclear whether Spider-Man will face the human Silvermane or a full-on cyborg in the series. Given that the series is a detective story, a villain involved in criminal activity fits well. While Kingpin is a better-known crime boss in theSpider-Manuniverse, Silvermane could be a better choice since he has never been shown on screen before, giving creators the freedom to develop the character as they see fit. It is speculated that Brendan Gleeson has been cast in the role. While there were rumorshe might play the series' version of Sandman, his portrayal of Silvermane seems more plausible. However, his exact role has not yet been confirmed. The other name mentioned in the synopsis, Yuri Watanabe, is more familiar to fans due to her popularity fromMarvel’s Spider-Manvideo games. She is depicted as an NYPD police detective whose disappointment and frustration with the justice system lead her to becomethe vigilante known as Wraith. Like Spider-Man, she battles crime but employs more brutal methods. Apart from the video game, she has not appeared outside the comics.
According to the source, Nicolas Cage will portray PI Ben Reilly instead of Peter Parker in the series. Ben Reilly is a name that may sound familiar to fans ashe is known as the Scarlet Spider, one of Spider-Man’s clones, in Marvel Comics canon. While the name change is not a complete shock, it was previously rumored that the series would alter the main character’s identity, though it was not clear what name would be chosen. PI Ben Reilly will find himself investigating a mysterious death and will discover that the Mayor is somehow involved, along with the notorious crime boss Silvio Manfredi. This investigation will likely be a central plotline, bringing a noir detective twist to theSpider-Manuniverse. Although Yuri Watanabe’s involvement in the plot has been confirmed, her exact role remains unclear. The leaked synopsis does not mention her alter ego, Wraith, leaving it uncertain whether she will appear in the same form as in the Marvel Comics. Despite this, it is speculated that she will take on the role of the femme fatale and might even fight alongside Spider-Man.Her story could take an unexpected turn, adding depth and complexity to theSpider-Man Noirseries.
