For months now, rumors have been swirling that Sony plans on hosting a specialPlayStation 5reveal event in February, where it will show off its next-generation console and highlight some of its games. The long-rumored PS5 February reveal event still has yet to be confirmed, but with various Sony executives spotted in San Francisco recently, it seems like the company does have something up its sleeve.

While fans wait for official information from Sony, rumors continue to persist online. This includes a massive information dump from 4chan that claims to reveal a ton of details about thePS5 February reveal eventand what it will entail. Fans should certainly keep the source of the information in mind, but enough legitimate video game leaks have come from 4chan that these claims can’t be completely ignored.

According to the leak, the PS5 reveal event will take place on February 5, and not only that, but it will reveal some of the new console’s launch titles. Apparently, the PS5 launch titles will includeGran Turismo 7,MLB: The Show 21,Demon’s Souls Remastered,Godfall, and a new IP from Sony Santa Monica Studio calledLegendz.

None of this has been confirmed by Sony, and besides the supposed new IPLegends, they’re all pretty safe guesses for someone who would be trying to make a leak look legitimate. After all,Godfallhas already been confirmed as a PS5 launch title, and aDemon’s Soulsremasterhas been rumored to be in development at Bluepoint Games for quite some time now.

Considering this, fans shouldn’t buy too much into this leak. It’s unlikely that the PS5 launch title lineup will even be finalized until we get closer to release, and Sony itself has confirmed that thePS5 release dateisn’t until the holiday 2020 season. We have quite some time to go between now and then, and so fans should take any supposed PS5 launch title list with a grain of salt until then.

On the bright side, at least PS5 enthusiasts don’t have to wait long to find out if there is any legitimacy to these claims. That’s because the leaker says that the PS5 reveal event is happening on February 5, so we will learn in a couple of weeks if there’s any truth to these claims.
