Until recently, Nvidia and AMD have been the two big companies when it comes to graphics card technology, but withIntelabout to unleash its own brand of GPUs, a third combatant is about to enter the ring, which will likely mean more choice for consumers. Given thatNvidia may be releasing its RTX 3050 early next year, it’s entirely possible that “team green” are a little concerned about its newest rival. On top of that, Intel has already set out a roadmap indicating at least four generations of its Arc range, and a recent rumor suggests the fourth may be out by 2025.

According to a recent report, which cites a tweet fromIntelArc Community Advocate, Bryce, the tech giant could see the release of its “Druid” graphics card within the next few years. The advocate and keen graphics driver enthusiast responded to another tweet in which it was speculated that Nvidia’s RTX 6090 Super could be out by 2025. Bryce replied by saying that this could be the same year that Druid comes out, prefixing the tweet with “if all goes well.”

With the company having unveiled four generations of its Arc graphics cards already, this would suggest that each generation will be available one year after its predecessor. With theIntel Arc Alchemist due out early 2022, it may be possible that the second generation, “Battlemage” will be out in 2023, while the third, “Celestial,” could arrive by 2024. Of course, this is only speculation at this point, and there’s been no confirmation from the company.

It’s hard to know what to make of the CPU conglomerate’s upcoming graphics products, but specs suggestArc Alchemist could rival top-end Nvidia cards. In any case, it seems that both Nvidia and AMD will have a fight on their hands. While the two used to going head-to-head with each other, now they have to contend with Intel looking for a slice of the GPU action.

However, despite all the new hardware that’s about to hit the shelves, there is still the issue of availability, given the current shortages that are ravaging the tech world. While it’s possibleIntel’s GPUs may be easier to get hold of than Nvidia’s or AMD’s, there’s still no certainty as to when the market will be back to normal. As top experts and insiders suggest the deficit could go on for maybe another year, and people are having to pay extortionate prices for products, let’s hopeInteland its upcoming GPUs can cope in a competitive industry that’s in the midst of the current turmoil.
