Ahead of the big Ubisoft Forward event on July 12,Far Cry 6leaked on the PlayStation Store, revealing the game’s August 02, 2025 release date and a variety of other information about the game. TheFar Cry 6box art was part of the big leak, showing a child character on the cover who some have theorized is actually a young version of iconicFar Cry 3villain Vaas, meaning the upcomingFar Cry 6could very well be a prequel.
IGN’s Joe Skrebels pointed out how the character Diego Castillo, the apparent son ofGiancarlo Esposito’s Anton Castillo character, has a scar on his eyebrow that looks just like the one on Vaas. Vaas didn’t have the eyebrow scar in-game, but it was featured whenVaas actor Michael Mandomade live action appearances as the character. Regardless, this has led some to theorize that Diego is really Vaas, and players will see his evolution into theFar Cry 3villain over the course of the new game.
