Jarvis Kaye, a FaZe Clan member and professional esports player, has been banned fromFortnitefor life. Kaye’s permanentFortniteban was confirmed in an emotional apology video that he posted to YouTube, where he explained why he was banned from the popular battle royale game for life.
As revealed in his apology video, Jarvis Kaye was permanently banned fromFortnitefor using an aimbot. Kaye’s use of an aimbot inFortnitewas apparent in various videos that he posted online. Kaye wasn’t using the aimbot on his main account and he wasn’t competing in a professional match at the time. Even so,Epic Gameshas decided to stick to its decision to ban Kaye fromFortnitefor life.

In a statement to TMZ Sports, Epic Games explained, “We have a zero tolerance policy for the usage of cheat software. When people using aimbots or other cheat technologies to gain an unfair advantage, they ruin games for people who are playing fairly.”
In his apology video, Kaye explained that he used the aimbot to create content that he thought would be entertaining for his YouTube viewers. He also said that he did not realize he could be potentially banned for life fromFortnitefor making the aimbot videos, and that he has never used an aimbot to cheat in a competitive game. Kaye also said that this was the first time that he has ever used an aimbot or cheating software.
Kaye has apologized to Epic Games for his use of an aimbot and he has asked the company to reconsider the severity of his punishment. However, the company does not appear to be budging on the issue due to its zero tolerance policy for using an aimbot or other cheating software. So unless Kaye’s connections withFaZe Clancan help him out, it seems as though his lifetime ban will remain in place, which would effectively derail his esports career.
This is far from the first time that Epic Games has had to deal with people cheating inFortnite. Earlier this year, theFortnite World Cup winners were caught cheating, and Epic has gone as far as to sue those selling cheat software.
Epic even purchased anti-cheat company Kamuas part of its crusade to end cheating inFortnite. In the meantime, those who are caught using cheat software in the game can expect lifetime bans similar to the one Kaye has been hit with.
