APokemonfan has recently redesigned Penny by giving her two new dark looks inspired by Umbreon.Pokemongamers and artists love to give their favorite characters andPokemon new forms, andPokemon Scarlet and Violethave plenty of memorable characters for that, like the Eevee-loving Penny.
Penny is a major character fromPokemon Scarlet and Violet. She’s in the same grade as the player character and is often portrayed as a shy girl with an Eevee backpack. She’s very good at sciences, despite not showing up in class very often, and has excellent computer skills. In addition, she can be challenged in several parts of the game. By using only Eeveelutions as her picks during fights, Penny ends up as a very memorable, if gimmicky, character and certainly has her share of fans.

Now, thePokemonfan Sackbot673 shared a redesign of Penny based on Umbreon, one ofthe evolutions of Eevee. This version of Penny keeps some of her most distinct features, such as the famous Eevee backpack, and uses a similar jacket, glasses, and boots. However, it gives the Pokemon trainer a hat and changes her style, using a design based on the Shadow-type Pokemon, which has darker colors and a skirt instead of pants. The outfit also comes in a shiny alternative, which changes the golden parts with light blue ones.
DespitePenny being disliked by somePokemonfans, claiming she “looks fake” and often acts like a victim, the fan-made design received a good reception on Reddit. In the comments, Redditors talked about how Penny looked very emo with the Umbreon design and approved most of the changes in her design. The creator Sackbot673 also commented that she is planning on designing different versions of Penny for all the Eeveelutions, including a version of the shiny Eevee, and may post them online soon.
Eevee and its eight evolutions are among the most popularPokemonaround due to their versatility in types and cute looks. As a result, they are featured consistently inPokemonart and similar handcraft projects. A few months ago, anotherPokemonfan created crochet dolls for Eeveeand its Eeveelutions, creating nine small dolls that looked very good. While fans often disagree on which Eevee evolution is the best, these characters have endured in popularity for a long time, along with other fan favorites such as Pikachu, and are among the most remembered ones even with over a thousand other Pokemon to compete with.
