In late February, fans took part inPokemon GOTour: Kanto, an event in which Pokemon from the first generation appeared in droves, celebrating the first 150 monsters to join the franchise. Not only was their increased availability exciting, it was also easier to find Shiny versions of these Pokemon, and the event also added many new Shinies to the game.Pokemon GOwill do the same thing in 2022 withPokemon GOTour: Johto next February.
Just like its predecessor,Pokemon GOTour: Johtowill bring the titular region’s Pokemon to the forefront. For anyone who buys a ticket to the event, Johto Pokemon will spawn in the wild and hatch from Eggs more often, and it’ll be easier to find Shiny Pokemon for a while.Pokemon GOTour: Johto shares another feature with Kanto, which is that two tickets are available. Kanto’s tickets had a Red and Green version, meanwhile the Johto event offers a Gold and Silver version. Players should consider the differences between these two and weigh which version will give them the experience they want most.

The Differences Between Pokemon GO’s Johto Tour Tickets
At their core, the Gold and SilverPokemon GOTour event tickets are largely the same. They both share a long list of benefits for the day of the event. Anyone holding a ticket will geta Special Research questline containing a Celebi, earn bonus Candy from Pokemon, get tons of bonus Raid Passes from Gyms, and more. The difference between the tickets is that each ticket focuses on a few Johto Pokemon exclusive to eitherPokemon GoldorSilverwhen those games released. The two tickets also have differing lists of common Shiny Pokemon.
Pokemon GOplayers who buy the Gold ticket will seePokemon Gold-exclusive monsters more often while using Incense: Spinarak, Gligar, Teddiursa, and Mantine. The Gold ticket also makes these Pokemon and the Johto starters appear as Shinies more often, as well as Igglybuff, Natu, Hoppip, Sunkern, Misdreavus, Wobbuffet, Shuckle, Swinub, and Ho-Oh.Better odds at a Shiny Ho-Ohare certainly hard to pass up on.

The Silver ticket has a lot to offer too. The followingPokemon Silverexclusives will be drawn to Incense by ticket holders: Ledyba, Delibird, Skarmory, and Phanpy. Silver ticket holders are also more likely to seethese Pokemon and the Johto startersas Shinies. Cleffa, Sudowoodo, Hoppip, Yanma, Pineco, Houndour, Miltank, Larvitar, and Lugia are also more likely to show up as Shinies. Whichever onePokemon GOfans decide to buy, they stand to gain a lot.
Pokemon GO’s Next Big Tour
Players have a few months to decide which ticket they want, but Niantic is incentivizing early purchases byoffering unique Research to anyonewho has aGOTour: Johto ticket in January and February 2022. Players need to choose wisely; they won’t be able to switch the version of their ticket once it has been purchased.
It’s great to seeGOTour event make a return with two compelling offerings. With any luck, this meansPokemon GOfans will be able to expect Tours for Hoenn and Sinnoh in the coming years, bringing in even more Shiny Pokemon from those regions.
