Pokemon GO’s Season of Alola has featured numerous events so far, many of which have introduced Generation 7 Pokemon to the popular augmented reality mobile game. With fresh Special Research andlegendary Pokemon Tapu Buluhaving joinedPokemon GOjust recently, Niantic has now shone a spotlight on the game’s next event.Pokemon GO’s Sustainability Week event begins Wednesday, April 20 at 10:00am local time and lasts until Monday, April 25 at 8:00pm local time, and fans will definitely want to participate.
The biggest addition toPokemon GOduring the Sustainability Week event is the debut of Oranguru, the Sage Pokemon. Orangaru is a Normal/Psychic-type Pokemon that first appeared inPokemon Sun and Moon. Anyone interested in adding Oranguru to theirPokemon GOroster should note that it will be available to catch in the wild, plus it will hatch from 7km eggs.

Being able to catch a brand-new Pokemon is likely going to be the greatest interest to mostPokemon GOplayers during Sustainability Week, but shiny hunters have something to look forward to as well. Shiny Cherubi is coming toPokemon GOalongside Oranguru, giving fans their first opportunity at adding one of them to their collection. Players will have plenty of opportunities to catch a shiny Cherubi duringPokemon GO’s Sustainability Week, as it will not only be appearing the wild, but it will also be obtainable through timed Field Research (available Saturday, April 13 from 10:00am to 8:00pm local time) and7km eggs.
As expected, there will also be a Sustainabilty Week Collection Challenge forPokemon GOplayers to complete while the event is live. The rewards for this nature-themed Collection Challenge include aMossy Lure Moduleand 15 Great Balls, though Niantic has noted that players will actually need to use a Mossy Lure Module if they hope to complete the challenge. That’s because two of the required Pokemon, Gloom and Weepinbell, will only spawn using a Mossy Lure Module while the event is live.
Luckily,Pokemon GOplayers will be able to get a free Mossy Lure Module to help catch Gloom and Weepinbell. It’s been confirmed that players will be able to claim a free event box during Sustainability Week that gives them a Mossy Lure Module, so that should make completing the Collection Challenge a little easier. Along with all this,Pokemon GOplayers can also look forward to Field Research tasks that give outMega Energyfor Venusaur and Abomasnow, plus double XP whenever they spin a PokeStop for the first time.
