Team GO Rocket is once again making trouble in the hit mobile title,Pokemon GO. Since their addition, the inclusion of Team GO Rocket enemies has been a popular one with fans as they consistently appear at PokeStops as well as hot air balloons. Players likely won’t have too much trouble with basic grunts, the real prize for knocking off these enemies iscreating a Rocket Radarwhich gives them the opportunity to go up against stronger opponents in the form of Cliff, Arlo, and Sierra.
These Team GO Rocket leaders are intended to be a bigger challenge, bringing stronger Pokemon to battle as well as better rewards for overcoming them. Each month, Sierra, Arlo, andCliff bring with them a different lineup of Pokemon, making sure that players stay on their toes and to not get too comfortable. During special events and quests, taking down the leaders can even lead to a Super Rocket Radar, which gives players the opportunity to take on Giovanni and the ultimate Shadow Pokemon prize.

For the month of May, Sierra’s team may be a real challenge forPokemon GOplayers as she comes with plenty of damage types that are opposites of each other. This includes Fire and Water, Psychic and Dark, and a few more for good measure. Here is what players should expect as well as which Pokemon to bring to score a victory.
Sierra’s First Pokemon
During May, Sierra will be leading off her battles withDrowzee who is a pure psychic type Pokemonthat will likely be the easiest matchup out of the three. As such, players will want to make sure they have Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type attacks ready to pick on Drowzee’s weaknesses. Since this Pokemon will likely be her easiest, players will want to try and focus on removing her shields as quickly as possible, so she won’t be able to utilize them later on.
Here are some solid options for players to counter this fight:

Sierra’s Second Pokemon
Just like with theother Pokemon GO Rocket Leaders, Sierra will have three possibilities for her second battle. For May 2022, players could see either Blaziken, Sharpedo, or Lapras. Here’s how to deal with all three.
Sharpedo
As a Dark and Water type Pokemon, Sharpedo is weak to Bug, Electric, Fairy, Fighting, and Grass-type moves. This is also the easiest option of the three thanks to its large list of weaknesses and lower health.
Blaziken
Another dual type is Blaziken who is Fire and Fighting. The best options to go with are Pokemon with Psychic, Flying, Water, and Ground attacks.
Lapras
Naturally,Sierra has her Ice/Water Type Pokemon Lapraswhich is incredibly tanky. While particularly weak to Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Rock-types, though players will want to be careful with Grass and Rock types as Lapras can counter them with its Ice moves. Players may also want to pick sturdier Pokemon for this fight as Lapras can take down lower health Pokemon very quickly.
Sierra’s Third Pokemon
With two Pokemon down at this point, players will be facing another mystery battle for the third and final round. Just like her other Leaders, Sierra again has three potential Pokemon to pick from and players won’t know who it is until they get to this point. For May 2022, players could see either Houndoom, Shiftry, or Nidoqueen. Here’s how to deal with all three.
Houndoom
The Dark/Fire Type Pokemon Rhyperior is particularly weak to Fighting, Ground, Rock, and Water-type moves.
Shiftry
The Grass/Dark Type Pokemon Shiftry is particularly weak to Fairy, Fighting, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Fire-type moves. This Pokemon is also the easiest choice for many thanks to its low health compared to the other two options.
Nidoqueen
The Poison/Ground Type Pokemon Nidoqueen is particularly weak to Ice, Psychic, Water, and Ground-type moves.
