Ahead of a planned Pokemon Direct, one dataminer has apparently discovered some of the planned upcoming content coming toPokemon GO. It’s an exciting time to be a Pokemon fan, asNintendo and The Pokemon Company are planning to reveal new contentthrough an upcoming direct. Fans have been endlessly speculating at what will be announced, with many convinced that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are finally going to be getting a big DLC announcement.Pokemon Day is an annual eventtypically used to announce multiple projects or content updates across various titles. Fans continue to hold out hope for Classic Pokemon game additions to Nintendo Switch Online, now that Game Boy titles are officially available, as well as new remakes of older games likePokemon Black and White. However, it’s a pretty safe bet to assume that the popular mobile titles likePokemon GOare getting some new content, especially if a recent datamine is to be believed.RELATED:Niantic Turns Pokemon GO Bug Into Official FeatureThe latestPokemon GOdatamine comes from PokeMiners, who typically posts out newly found assets. The latest find seems to point at content Niantic is planning for the Pokemon Day announcement, which includes 3D models for the roaming form of Gimmighoul and then itsPokemon Scarlet and Violetevolution known as Gholdengo. While the Chest Form of Gimmighoul has been seen previously insidePokemon GO, this would be the debut for both of these creatures.
However, the arrival of Gholdengo intoPokemon GOisn’t the only update if this datamine is accurate. The image also showcases a new Sparkly incense and lure, some sort of Photo Safari Tutorial, the addition of the Paldea Pokedex, as well as a Festival of Colors bowl. Interestingly enough, the Sparkly Incense is modeled after Gimmighoul’s chest form, so it stands to reason that players may have to use these objects to locate the Paldean ghost type.
While there’s always a chance that datamined information changes or never happens, Pokemon GO fans won’t have to wait long to find out, as Pokemon Presents takes place in a few days on February 27. For the time being, players have been populating theirHoenn region Pokedex thanks to the recent Primal Rumblings event, which saw the return of Rayquaza into raids and those who were able to catch it earned one with the unique Breaking Swipe attack.
