Pokemon GO’s Halloween 2020 event is officially underway, and it adds a variety of spooky content to Niantic’s extremely-popular AR titles. Among this content is a new Special Research story, called A Spooky Message Unmasked, that centers around uncovering the mysteries surroundingGalarian Yamask. For those players that would like more information on the tasks and rewards featured in thisPoGOHalloween 2020 Special Research, full details can be found in what follows.

To note, this is certainly not the first time that a Spooky Message has found its way intoPokemon GO, and indeed players may remember similar Special Researches from year’s past. That said, A Spooky Message Unmasked 2020 does have its own unique tasks and rewards, which means that fans will not simply be rehashing content from previous Halloween events.

Rewards: Yamask Encounter, 44 Silver Pinap Berries, 9 Golden Razz Berries

All in all, the tasks that makeupPokemon GO’s A Spooky Message Unmasked Special Research are fairly straightforward, if not time-consuming. Indeed, it should not prove particularly challenging for players to catch the indicated Pokemon and complete these tasks, especially since Ghost-type Pokemon are appearing more frequently duringPoGO’s Halloween 2020 event, but it will certainly require some amount of dedication.

Pokemon GOfans will be rewarded for their work, though, and the encounters with Yamask and Spiritomb are perhaps the biggest prizes. The Yamask Candy that is awarded at the end of the Spooky Message Unmasked Research may also be of interest to those players that are hoping to evolve a Galarian Yamask into Runerigus, though it is not quite enough to perform the transformation.

Of course, A Spooky Message Unmasked is not the only Research that players can complete for prizes during this Halloween celebration, and there is, in fact, another one taking place right now. More specifically, fans that previously completedPokemon GO’s Mega Buddy Challenge Timed Researchshould now have access to new tasks that focus on Mega Gengar, and they serve as a nice counterpart to the tasks detailed in this guide.

Pokemon GOis available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
