It remains among bestselling trading card games of all time, being the most popular game of its type in 2016, and selling over 52.9 cards as of March 2023.

Reddit user EdelgardianFE shared some photos they took of their parked car, on which two packs ofPokemontrading cards had been tucked under the windshield wipers by an unknown culprit while they were in the gym. They reportedly didn’t notice until midway through the drive home, but they presume the cards were placed due to the stuffed toys resting on the dashboard. However, it turns out that this generous offer had no value to the user, as they reportedly already had the master set from thisHalloween pack from thePokemon Trading Card Game, but is planning to pay them forward to someone else despite their lack of monetary value.
Reception in the comments was quite humorous. Some expressed skepticism regarding such an unusual event, suggesting that either the user simply planted the cards on their own car or that it was a scam by someone else who planned to break into the car. Many took the time to comment on the plush toys in the windshield, while one user suggested splurging on thePokemon Trading Card Gameand planting the cards on other people’s cars as a prank. Notably, there was one person who jokingly speculated that this was a disguised parking ticket, perhaps left on the car by Officer Jenny, a recurring character from the long-runningPokemonanime.
It may never be known who was responsible for planting the cards on this person’s car, let alone their motive behind it. It’s far from the mostbizarre or creative thing someone has done with thePokemon Trading Card Game, and it most likely will not be the last. Either way, whoever receives the cards from this user should be in for a nice surprise.
