Recently, Reddit user ZanorinSeregris caught the attention of thePokemoncommunity with their Japanese ink painting of Arboliva. It was done with the sumi-eart technique, in which artists utilized simple black ink to draw a subject on a plain white space before adding watercolor. This painting style is meant to capture the timeless beauty of the natural world, which would be a nice medium for various Pokemon. In a comment, ZanorinSeregis explained that they wanted to draw Arboliva like “an actual tree shaken by a nice breeze.” The post also noted that this was their 38thPokemonink painting so far, and fellow fans could find the others on their Reddit and Instagram (purrfectdoodle) pages.
ManyPokemonplayers praised ZanorinSeregris' Arboliva painting, noting how beautiful and delicate the lines were. One said they spent 20 minutes scrolling through the artist’s previous works, which included Shiny Umbreon, Dragonair, and many others. While another requested for the Japanese ink painting to be printed on a shirt.
With the release of Gen 9 inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, there are now over 1,000 Pokemon that many fans could reference for their art. Many have showcased their creativity by making alternate evolutions,creepy Pokemon combinations, and possible Paradox Pokemon designs, among many others. This could even be a good source of income for artists as they create handmade goods, from crocheted dolls to rugs, inspired byPokemon.
