Last October, Ubisoft releasedWatch Dogs Legion, followed byAssassin’s Creed Valhallaseveral weeks later. Now, while both Ubisoft games have receivedmostly positive reviews from players and critics, it appears that there is a major save issue that is present in bothWatch Dogs LegionandAssassin’s Creed Valhalla.
The problem is said to be worse inWatch Dogs Legion, and in a thread on Ubisoft’s official forums for the game, players are reporting lost progress and corrupt save data. Luckily, community managers reassured fans that the developers are already looking into the problem. At the moment, the exact cause of the issue inWatch Dogs Legionis still unknown, but some claim it occurs after switching to a new team member.

On the other hand,Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’ssave problem mostly revolves around save data getting corrupt for no reason, with the game save menu showing one or more saves to be “data corrupt!” The worst thing is that the only option for players is to delete the file, which is extremely inconvenient for those players who arealready far intoAssassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Currently, it is unclear whether these issues are isolated to the next-generation consoles, given that most of the complaints are coming fromXbox Series X playersand none from those who are playing both games on current-generation systems. Once Ubisoft has identified the problem, it will likely release a statement and, hopefully, an update to resolve the issues in both games.
It is worth noting that this is not the first major issue that players have encountered inAssassin’s Creed Valhallasince its release last week. Yesterday, Ubisoft released a hotfix to temporarily resolve a bug thatprevents the Seer’s Solace quest from being triggered. To the uninitiated, this specific quest is required for players to progress through the game, which is why Ubisoft was quick to respond. Furthermore, the studio revealed that a more permanent solution would be released alongsideAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’sfirst major update.
Assassin’s Creed ValhallaandWatch Dogs Legionare available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
