Planet Zoo(alongside its DLCs) provides a variety of different animals and climates for players to start building their dream park in. Naturally, each species will be suited to a different climate, such as penguins needing cold Arctic-like temperatures, and camels a warm desert-type environment.

Despite this, players are free to terraform and add heaters/coolers to adapt any environment to the needs of any animal. For this reason, there’s no overall best biome, but some options make it easier and less expensive to include lots of different species and run a successful park than others. As a result, these are the best biomes for players to start building inPlanet Zoo.
7Tundra
Freezing but rather picturesque, the Tundra biome is blanketed with snow, pine trees, and icy lakes. While this environment may be perfect for polar bears and Arctic wolves, it’s far too cold formost other species.
A small specialist zoo might work well for those interested in housing Arctic animals, but the player’s heating bills would soon spiral out of control if trying to add warmer species. The snowy environment may be ideal for a ski resort, but it’s not so great when trying to create a fully-fledged zoo.
6Desert
Dry, arid, and devoid of life, the Desert biome isn’t winning any awards for beauty. That being said, the map is mostly flat, allowing players to quickly and easily begin construction without the hassle of terraforming. Scenery like water and plant life can then be added, giving a much-needed spruce up to the rather plain landscape.

The temperature is too warm for a vast majority of the game’s animals, meaning players will need to install lots of coolers. Guests will suffer from the scorching heat as well, although it does present an opportunity to sell them ice-cold drinks at a premium.Ruthless money-makingplayers will no doubt enjoy the Desert biome because of this.
5Aquatic
While not a unique biome in and of itself, the Aquatic environment is anywhere on themap with lots of water or wetland. These areas can fit into most maps and biomes – even desert – and support both aquatic animals like crocodiles and sea lions and land mammals such as antelopes and monkeys.
It’s a highly versatile addition to the player’s zoo, not only being home to lots of animal species but also beautifying the park and providing a more interesting layout. In general, players shouldn’t hold back if thinking about adding more water to their zoos.
4Taiga
A cool environment that isn’t quite as freezing as Tundra, the Taiga biome is home to lots of coniferous trees and the odd bit of snowfall. It’s perfect for players that favor animals living in colder climates but don’t want to deal with the low temperatures and extreme conditions of constant snow.

Lots of animals can be housed in this biome, including many of those that need heaters to live in the Tundra. Despite this, many of the more exotic and exciting animals will still need some sort of adjustment to their enclosures to allow them to live here.
3Grassland
Characterized by roasting savannahs and sweeping plains, the Grassland biome is a warm but habitable environment for players to construct a zoo in. If looking to make an African-themed zoo, this is the biome to choose.
Despite the Grassland’s heat, its climate is suitable for a large variety of animals, with over half of the species in the game being comfortable in these conditions. That means fewer heaters/coolers required, more money saved, and a bigger and more exciting zoo. Don’t forget safari rides – they make aperfect addition to this biome!
2Temperate
As the name suggests, the Temperate climate is about as far away from extreme as players can get. It’s filled with trees, lakes, and plains, making the biome resemble many American and European zoos.

Temperate maps aregreat for beginners, being home to many animals that are easy and cheap to care for, as well as being ideal for creation, with a bunch of compatible scenery and plant options that allow players to create the zoo of their dreams. With no extreme conditions and good all-around qualities, it’s quite hard for players to go wrong with this biome.
1Tropical
With an exotic flair to make the player’s zoo stand out from the rest, the Tropical biome is very green and very rainy. It makes for a lush, vibrant space to build a zoo in and around, and will no doubt capture some of the best visualsPlanet Zoohas to offer.
Surpassing the Grassland biome in terms of compatibility, players can include a massive range of unique and colorful animals in this climate, including some smaller insects and snakes that can be housed in exhibits. On top of this, the rainy nature of the biome means thatumbrella sales are always high, giving players a steady stream of income to work with. As biomes go, Tropical is one of the more interesting and unrestricted options.
