Summary
The recently-released PlayStation-published third-person shooter gameHelldivers 2is exploding in popularity on PC and PS5, and now a petition to bring it to Xbox is blowing up.Helldivers 2was developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive earlier this month.Helldivers 2reviews have been mostly positive, and the game has proven to be an incredible success for Sony.
Helldivers 2has broken recordswhen it comes to Sony’s PC games. It’s been a huge hit on Steam, passing the concurrent player counts for games likeDestiny 2,Starfield, and other major releases. With all this buzz surroundingHelldivers 2, it’s really no surprise that Xbox gamers want to get in on the action.

WithHelldivers 2published by Sony, an Xbox port of the game is extremely unlikely. Even so, that hasn’t stoppedHead of Xbox Phil Spencer speaking out about it. And now Xbox fans have started apetition asking for aHelldivers 2port. At the time of this writing, over 25,000 people have signed the petition to bringHelldivers 2to Xbox, with dozens of new signatures with each refresh of the page. Unfortunately, the petition is unlikely to convince Sony to bringHelldivers 2to Xbox, but it’s a testament to the game’s popularity that fans on Microsoft’s consoles want to see it ported so badly.
Will Helldivers 2 Come to Xbox?
WhileSony has been porting its games to PCin recent years, it has made no indication that any of its titles will ever be released on an Xbox console. One exception to the rule is the PlayStation-developedMLB The Showgames, but even then, those Xbox ports are not actually published by Sony itself, but rather MLB Advanced Media. So, while it’s technically possible, fans shouldn’t hold their breath for aHelldivers 2Xbox port.
Fan demand for aHelldivers 2Xbox port comes at a time when Xbox itself is bringing some of its games to competing platforms.Xbox has confirmed that four of its gameswill be coming to platforms like PlayStation, though it stopped short of naming the specific titles. Rumors point to the four Xbox games going multi-platform as beingSea of Thieves,Grounded,Hi-Fi Rush, andPentiment, but fans will have to wait for an official announcement.

In the meantime, anyone interested in playingHelldivers 2will have to do so on a PlayStation 5 console or a PC. The game’s runaway success on PC could potentially convince PlayStation to release more of its games on PCthe same day they hit PS5, but it’s doubtful that it will convince the company to release its games on Xbox as well.
