Players must mine, log, and forage to improve their skills inPalia. As they do this, they will slowly deplete their energy, so it can be time-consuming to max out every skill. To make things easier, there’sa feature called Focus. When players have Focus, their skill-building rate is boosted.
Everyone starts with the same amount of Focus, but there is a method to increase the Focus limit and the skill bonus that comes from Focus. To increase their Focus, players must visit the Dragon Statue and offer a prayer and Renown. To increase their Focus bonus, they can visit the Phoenix statue and offer the same prayer.
6Check Townsfolk Gift Preferences
Make Friends Quicker
Players will spend most of their time going back and forth to their homestead, critical locations in the world, and the village. The village is full of shops and townsfolk. The locals are necessary for story quests and acquiring specific resources. Players can also romance a select few townsfolk once they get close enough to them.
The best way toget closer to townfolkis to give them gifts, and their gift preferences change every week. Their gift preferences include Weekly Wants and a list of Liked gifts. Weekly Wants can only be gifted once weekly, while Liked gifts can be given daily.
5Find Fishing Hotspots
Fish For Rare Species
Palia, like many cozy games, hasan in-depth fishing mechanicwhere players can catch fish for cooking or profit. There are rivers, lakes, and beaches around the world that players can fish in once they get their fishing rod. They will get their fishing rod, and upgrade it afterward, by talking to Einar.
Players can fish with or without bait, but using bait yields better results. Any body of water can be fished from, but certain areas have a higher quality and numbers of fish. These hotspots appear as bubble rings with a small fish jumping over them in the overworld. Players may fish up a Star Quality fish from a hotspot, which can be sold for more Gold.
4Use Seed Makers
Save Money On Crops
Whenplayers start growing crops, it requires a lot of work and some Gold before they see a significant profit. There are nine types of crops that players can grow in their gardens, including grains, vegetables, and fruits. While players can purchase seeds from Zeki’s General Store, using Seed Makers is more cost-efficient.
Seed Makers are crafting machines inPalia. Players can input a crop into a Seed Maker, and it will convert it back into a seed. The recipe for the Seed Maker can be purchased from Badruu, and players can build up to 30 on their farm.
3Craft Repair Kits
Avoid Breaking Tools
Players will have tools for all their mining, logging, fishing, and farming needs. Theywill start with standard versions of each tool, but canupgrade them for more efficiency. Tools have a durability level, so eventually, they will break if used often. To mitigate this, players can use Repair Kits.
Repair Kits are consumable items that players can use at a Repair Station to fix their tools. There are three recipes for Repair Kits, each making higher quality repairs than the last. Players can also use Repair Kits at Sifuu’s Blacksmith in place of Gold.
2Get a Hang Glider ASAP
Travel Further and Faster
There is a decent-sized map inPalia. Players can fast travel, but only from specific points and for a set amount of Gold. However, they can unlock a Hang Glider to travel from place to place faster than on foot. Players must complete the"Like a Bird"main story quest to unlock a Hang Glider.
Once they get a Hang Glider, it can be used to fly through the air by jumping from high places and deploying it. There are also several cosmetics players can purchase from the online store to customize their Hang Glider’s appearance.
1Use Resources Wisely
Don’t Waste Important Materials
There are tons of resources used for crafting and building that players can collect around the land. Resources are natural things harvested from the land, like rock, wood, animal skins, and more. When first getting started, it is wise to hold onto resources rather than sell them for Gold, as many early story quests require crafting.
Players who aren’t savvy with their resources will spend hours collecting items. They can get a jumpstart on resources by taking advantage of the debris found on their farm when they first purchase it. All resources will beadded to their inventory, and when they run out of space, they can craft and use a storage bin.
