Players can get a better look at the new hero and map coming toOverwatch 2, as well as the new skins inspired by Greek mythology and the new upcoming limited-time game modes.
Each season ofOverwatch 2comes with a batch of improvements to Blizzard’s FPS, from minor hero adjustments to the release of new characters or maps.Overwatch 2removed the loot boxesfrom the original game in favor of a Battle Pass system, allowing players to unlock themed cosmetics for a fixed fee every season. As a new season is coming out soon, players will discover the new Season Pass and its exclusive rewards.

Overwatch 2shared a trailer to showcase the new features coming with its second season on December 6.Overwatch 2Season 2 will mark the debut of tank hero Ramattra, the first character to change forms to alter his abilities. Players will be able to try this tank hero on Shambali Monastery, a new Escort map set in the Himalayan peaks. This second season ofOverwatch 2is placed under the theme of Greek mythology, with various new cosmetic elements inspired by ancient gods and goddesses, including the mythic Zeus Junker Queen skin for those who complete the Battle Pass.
While the main topic of this trailer is the reveal of the upcoming content introduced with Season 2, the video also shares more information about new time-limited events coming toOverwatch 2. Battle for Olympus will run from January 5 to January 19, grantingOverwatch 2heroes with god-like powers in this specific game mode. The Lunar New Year andWinter Wonderland eventswill also be back this year, unlocking themed skins for players who complete their challenges.
With the release of Season 2,Overwatch 2is bringing a new round of hero balance changes. Blizzard stated that both metrics and player feedback have shown thatDPS hero Sojourn was too powerfulin the highest tiers of competitive ranks, so this hero will receive a nerf with Season 2. Tank hero Doomfist will receive various to increase his efficiency as a team’s front line, but Blizzard hasn’t shared more details as to the exact hero balance changes coming toOverwatch 2. Maps will also change with Season 2, with Hollywood and Watchpoint: Gibraltar leaving the map pool in favor of Shambali Monastery, Rialto, and Blizzard World.
Overwatch 2is out now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
