Dunestar Oscar Isaac talked recently about the upcoming Marvel Studios television seriesMoon Knight(which is set to debut on Disney Plus). The actor also talked about the possibility of returning as Spider-Man 2099 in the upcomingSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Versesequel.
Isaac has been getting really prolific roles as of late, starring in movies such asX-Men: Apocalypse, the recentStar Warstrilogy, the upcomingMetal Gear Solidmovie,Dune,Moon Knight, and making a brief appearance inSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.So many may want to know how it is that he’s getting these roles and if it was all a part of his plan to begin with. With roles like these, fans always want to see the actor return, so once one signs the contract they usually have more than one project down the line.

Isaac sat down with Fandom and answereda few questions regardingMoon KnightandSpider-Man, as well as how he views these roles he’s been receiving. The actor didn’t give too much away about the upcoming Disney Plus television series, but fans should still be excited for what’s to come. When asked if there will be multiple versions of Marc Spector in the show like there were in the comic books, the actor said, “Well, we’re definitely doing the Moon Knight story! So, I’m gonna be really excited to talk about it ad nauseum next year.” The actor made sure to not give anything away, but fans are expecting a faithful adaptation of the Marvel crime fighter.
Later, when asked if he would return for thesequel to the animatedSpider-Manfilm, the actor said, “I would love to inhabit that character for more as well… so let’s hope so!” Isaac went on to further say that a lot of these prolific roles have been finding him rather than the other way around. “You know, I’d like to say that there’s way more intention behind what happens, but it’s reacting to what comes my way. So this opportunity comes my way, and I think, ‘Yeah, I’d love to do that.’ It’s not stuff that I’ve necessarily sought out. And so I’ve just been very lucky that that stuff kind of lines up in a way that that really speaks to my interests, and I get a chance to contribute.”
Superhero roles are a big topic of conversation in the acting world. Some actors view it as ‘selling out’ for a quick money grab and boost to popularity, while others view it as a ‘right of passage’ or a fun experience to be able to don the costume of some of the popular heroes from their childhood. Whichever side of the fence they stand on, one thing for certain is that superheroes are here to stay. It seems they’re just scratching the surface of the comic book world as more heroes and villains are getting introduced into the storylines.
As cool as it is to see these worlds from the pages being brought to life, consistentlyreleasing superhero moviesruns the risk of giving audiences ‘superhero movie fatigue.’ Only time will tell if this is just a cinematic phase or if it’s something that will stand the test of time. Hopefully the latter, but as long as there’s a fanbase anything is possible.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse 2is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 26, 2025.
