The Gorosei are some of the most influential charactersinOne Piece, now more so than ever before, since the story is in the Final Saga. Oda has been saving the true value of the Gorosei for years and it is time for them to step into the fray and take the spotlight for themselves. The last few chapters ofOne Piecehave focused quite a lot on the Five Elders and they are sure to get more attention as the story moves forward.

One Piecechapter 1085 introduced fans to some of the most incredible abilities that the Gorosei have up their sleeve. Much to the surprise of the many fans readingOne Piece,the Gorosei were revealed to be Devil Fruit usersand, by the looks of it, their Devil Fruits are incredibly powerful.
The Gorosei’s Mythical Zoans
When King Cobra got an audience with the Five Elders inOne Piece1085, he started asking them questions about Queen Lily, who was the monarch of the land of Arabasta nearly 800 years ago when the World Government was created. Unlike the other Founding 20 families,Queen Lily did not want to become a Celestial Dragon.Instead, she decided to return to Arabasta and rule her people by herself. Strangely enough, Cobra mentioned that she never made it back home and the lack of records on her from there onwards meant that she did, indeed, die.
At the same time, Cobra also asked the Five Elders about the meaning of the letter D and, soon after, much to the shock of the fans and Cobra alike, Imu walked in the room, despite the Arabasta monarch being there. They revealed the fact that the D are actually the enemies of the Gods and that Queen Lily made a grave mistake in the past. They even attributed the spread of the Poneglyphs to Queen Lily and pinned it as her mistake. As Cobra realized that his fate was sealed, he prepared for death and when he was attacked, it was Sabo who came to his rescue.
The Revolutionary Army Chief of Staff launched a powerful Fire Fistat the Five Elders and proceeded to attack Imu as well. Much to the surprise of the fans, all of the Gorosei, and even Imu themselves, had transformed into their Devil Fruit forms. The Gorosei appear to be users of Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits and their powers are likely going to be in a league of their own.
Gorosei With The Human Human Fruit
One Piece1085 did not give fans a clean look at the Devil Fruit forms of the Gorosei. Instead, the transformations were covered in silhouette, however, fans could make out bits from the shadowy figures that Oda illustrated very clearly. One of the easiest Devil Fruit transformations to spot of the Gorosei was that of the bald Elder with glasses who also carries a katana. Despite having transformed, he still retained his human-like appearance. Around his neck, a steam cloud could be seen and fans have already seen it with the likes of Luffy, Lucci, Kaku, and even Yamato. Kaido, in his dragon form, also has a similar flame cloud around his neck.
While fans do not know for sure what Devil Fruit the bald Gorosei has, the fact that he retains his human-like appearance could mean that he has a modelof the Hito Hito no Mi.Furthermore, his Devil Fruit is likely going to be an awakened one, given that he has been alive for hundreds of years, if not more. The question of which model of the human human fruit he possesses remains, however. Sadly, fans do not know the answer to that just yet, but given that they are the gods of the world, it could very well be a godly Devil Fruit, just as Luffy possesses the Nika fruit.
Gorosei With the Bird Devil Fruit
The Gorosei with a mustache and a long beard was also quite easy to spot during the transformation. By the looks of it, he transformed into a giant bird, which, once again, indicates that he possesses a Zoan Devil Fruit as well. His Devil Fruit is likely going to be Mythical Zoan as well, given that they are the rarest and among the strongest Devil Fruits in One Piece. However, which mythical bird this could be remains to be seen. There are countless mythical birds and this one could be a mythical bird god, as it would perfectly align with the Five Elders being gods of the world, along with Imu.

One interesting guess for this Devil Fruit ability would be the power of a Garuda. Garuda are known to exist as a myth in the One Piece world, at the very least, and that has been confirmed by the fact that Vinsmoke Judge, the current leader of the Germa Kingdom, is known as the Garuda. Of course, this Gorosei could also possess any other mythical bird power, such as the Thunderbird. Fans can’t know for sure until they see them in action clearly.
Mythical Oni Devil Fruit
Another Devil Fruit ability that was rather easy to spot for the fans just by looking at the silhouette was that of Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. Fans have already been introduced to Saturn a few chapters ago when he was revealed to be on the same ship as Admiral Kizaru, headed to Egghead Island. Judging by the silhouette of his transformation, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn possesses the powers of a mythical Oni, or a Minotaur.
His Devil Fruit transformation seemed to give him huge horns atop his head and an upper body that resembled a minotaurus. In fact, he bore an appearance very similar to that of the former Yonko, Kaido. As fans know, Oni are known to exist in the world ofOne Piece,Kaido being a living proof of that. These mythical or ancient creatures could very well have Devil Fruits of their own and perhaps that is the power that Saturn has at his disposal.
The Remaining Gorosei
Figuring out the Devil Fruit abilities of the remaining members of the 5 Elders is slightly harder as their silhouettes were very confusing to look at. One of them, however, looked like he possessed the powers of an elephant-like creature. Once again, there are many mythical creatures in the world ofOne Piecethat resemble elephants.
Fans have also already seen an ancient Mammoth Devil Fruit, which was eaten by Jack the Drought of the Beast Pirates. It is entirely possible that one of the members of the Gorosei has an ability of a mythical elephant or, a mythical elephant-like entity. Sadly, fans won’t know the answer to this for quite a while.
The last Gorosei member seems to have a Devil Fruit power that is extremely difficult to figure out. All fans could see was a giant head with a huge gaping mouth. What exactly this creature is remains to be seen and there isn’t much this silhouette could tell the fans. However, at the very least, given that the other four seem to be Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits, it would be a safe bet to assume that this Devil Fruit is also of the Mythical Zoan class. What Devil Fruit it is, is still a mystery and something that fans would have to wait for until Oda gives them the answer.
