TheXbox Series S has impressive specificationsconsidering its size and for many, it is an ideal cheaper alternative to the more expensive next-generation games. However, some fans have pointed out that statements about running “up to 120 fps” and “upscaled resolution” may just be possibilities rather than regular features that are utilized on the majority of games. Xbox has now showcased the likes ofGears 5,Assassin’s Creed Valhalla,andThe Outer Worldsusing the technology with impressive visual and technical results.

The video showcased significantly quicker loading times withThe Outer Worldsloading in 12 seconds rather than 53 on the Xbox One S, additionally, the graphics were of a higher quality. During the video, Mike Rayner of The Coalition explained thatGears 5will be playable at 120 fps, alongside gameplay footage. Rayner emphasized the fluidity players would feel through this new framerate and added that theXbox Series Sis “four times more powerful” than the Xbox One S and with that in mind can comfortably handle these technical specifications.

The video footage ofAssassin’s Creed Valhallawas also impressive and once again showed detailed textures alongside its action-based gameplay. With these technical specifications illustrated many players will now be more confident in the capabilities of theSeries S before its release. This video outlines the impressive qualities of the system, but some will still question what games are coming to the console as well as its necessity with no new games at launch.

The Xbox Series S seems to be great value for players, and the video showcases how impressive this offer is. However, it may be difficult to convince players to upgrade to a console without new games as an incentive, equally those who are interested inspecifications may look to Series X. Nonetheless, this console does seem to pack a surprising technical punch and many will be interested to try it out in the coming months.
