Minions: The Rise of Gruhas officially released, andElden Ringfans visiting theaters with their families may be surprised to see an item from the FromSoftware game in the prequel. Sure enough, anElden Ringfan has found that the film’s “entire plot” hinges on a veryElden Ring-like necklace.

It goes without saying that the latestMinionsmovie is not where fans would be expecting to see something that looks like it was pulled directly out ofElden Ring. After all, the world and characters crafted by FromSoftware andGeorge R.R. Martinis extremely dark and full of demented figures like Mohg and Dung Eater. While the internet has a love/hate relationship with the Minions seen inThe Rise of Gru, their films can hardly be described with the words often used to explain the Lands Between.

Instead of a character resemblingMaleniaor a location that looks like Mt. Gelmir, theElden Ringconnection is a gold necklace. On this necklace, a ring of circular green gems can be seen, with the item shining brightly in the image taken by boredsans. Sure enough, it looks almost exactly like anElden RingTalisman - specifically, the Viridian Amber Medallion +2. The only major difference is the green ring in the center of theMinionsnecklace and the color of the gems, asElden Ring’s are a darker green. Beyond that, they are essentially exact matches.

ThisElden RingTalismancan be acquired from a chest at Miquella’s Haligtree, one of the final areas players will likely explore during their playthroughs. While most remember this location because it is part of the pathway to Malenia, the game’s hardest boss battle, the Viridan Amber Medallion +2 can be picked up after some clever platforming. If players go to Haligtree Town Plaza, drop onto a platform with Spiritcaller Snails, and make a few running jumps, they’ll find a cheat that holds the item.

While this post has only received about 125 upvotes from theElden Ringcommunity, it did have an entertaining comment attached. According to Reddit user 7jinni, the stamina boost this Talisman provides is only “okay” despite its +2 status. As such, they joke that it was not worth making a movie about such a mediocre item. Givenhow successfulElden Ringis, this could be the start of a new trend, as fans could spot many more familiar items in movies and TV shows going forward.

Minions: The Rise of Gruis getting decent reviews and could surely do well at the box office, as the film will undoubtedly be a hit with younger audiences. However, fan posts like this and promotional material like theMinionsmakeover forThe Office’s intromay prove even more memorable than the film itself.

Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
