Developed by Pyramid and Sony’s Japan Studio,Pataponbecame a cult classic series on the PlayStation Portable thanks to its unique rhythm-based controls. No new entries would be released afterPatapon 3launched in 2011, but Sony would remasterPataponandPatapon 2for PlayStation 4in 2017 and 2020. The demand forPataponremained after the remasters, and co-developer Japan Studio would close its doors in 2021, seemingly reducing the chances of a new entry. Fortunately, the talent behind thePataponseries teamed up to form Ratata Arts, the studio behind the newRatatangame being funded on Kickstarter.
