Summary
Izuku Midoriya’s dream inMy Hero Academiais becoming a reality. He is now a student at the prestigious U.A. High, a hero training academy, all thanks to his encounter with All Might. All MIght could not ignore Midoriya’s heroic nature as Midoriya jumped to shield Katsuki Bakugo, his childhood friend, from a villain’s attack. This turns Midoriya’s life around, as All Might sees him fit to be a recipient of One For All, his quirk. Midoriya went from being quirkless to having one of the most powerful quirks in theMy Hero Academiaworld.
As a hero in training, Midoriya goes by Deku. He is quite friendly and wants to be on good terms with everyone he meets. He is ready to risk his life and has risked his life to save his friends and even strangers. Fans cannot miss the one-sided friendship Deku has with Bakugo. Deku sees him as a friend, but Bakugo sees him as a rival. Luckily for Deku, he meets some amazing students at U.A. High, and they form mutual friendships.
4Tenya Ida
Upon meeting Midoriya, everyonenotices his heroic nature, which draws many people to him. Tenya Ida is one such person. Tenya admires Deku’s intuition and sees it as a vital trait he has to pick up to be a true hero. Tenya seems very serious and uptight, and even though he likes following the rules, Tenya never fails to acknowledge when someone is better than he is.This makes him a good leader, and Midoriya has no problem stepping down as the class representative for him, because he knows Tenya has what it takes.
As the representative ofClass 1-A, Tenya has to ensure everyone is safe during fights, but he especially cares for Deku and always looks out for him. Deku is quite reckless and stubborn, and his friends, especially Tenya, always verify to drag Deku out of a fight after he is seriously injured. Deku and Tenya respect each other, and although they have had moments of disagreement, they have always been able to sort out their differences.
3Shoto Todoroki
Midoriya’s first encounter with Shoto Todorki during the U.A. Sports Festival had quite a lasting impact on him. Shoto, because of his strict upbringing, has strong and negative feelings towards his father, Endeavor, and refuses to use his father’s flame quirk. As Shoto struggles with using only onepart of his quirk, limiting his true abilities, Midoriya puts him on the path that makes him see and understand that his father’s powers are part of him. He helps Shoto understand that rejecting them is not helpful.
Shoto and Deku’s friendship becomes deeper after theU.A. Sports Festival. During the work-study period, Shoto offers to speak to his dad, Endeavour, in case Midoriya wants to work with him, showing just how much they have grown to be fond of each other.
2Ochaco Uraraka
Ochaco Uraraka is Midoriya’s first friend at U.A. High. They had an encounter during U.A. High’s entrance exam where Midoriya was unable to use his quirk to destroy the robots, but his selfless nature could not see a fellow participant in need and ignore them. Midoriya, who had not scored any points in the physical exams, left the task at hand to save Uraraka from the robots. This heroic move gave Midoriya the chance to pursue his hero dream at U.A. High. Uraraka returns the favor almost immediately by saving Midoriya from debris.
Deku’s tenacity and heroic nature inspire Uraraka to be a better hero and save as many people as possible. She pays attention to Deku and understands that his quirk can be too powerful for him, andshe is always willing to lend him a helping hand whenever she can. In addition, they tend to blush uncontrollably around each other, hinting that they might have feelings for each other.
1Katsuki Bakugo
Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo have been friends since they were little; more like, Midoriya has been following Katsuki like a lost puppy. When young Katsuki notices that young Midoriya does not have a quirk, he starts to torment him and tries to make Midoriya feel weak. For some reason, this bullying and taunting never fazed Midoriya. Even though they are not little kids anymore, Midoriya remains friends with Katsuki, treating him with respect and saving him from villain attacks.
Katsuki always shouts at Deku, but as they journey together to become heroes, much to Katsuki’s dismay, he finds out that Deku received All Might’s quirk. Soon, heis determined to prove to Dekuthat he is better and stronger than him. Over time, Katsuki becomes less aggressive towards Midoriya. Viewers get to understand that Katsuki has always felt somewhat threatened by Midoriya’s heroic and selfless personality, something he does not have even though it is vital in becoming a hero.
This dynamic duo deeply cares for each other, Midoriya more than Katsuki. However, Katsuki has been making great strides to show how much he cares about Midoriya. He puts his life on the line to save Midoriya, and even shows concern when Midoriya is hurt or injured.
