Mortal Kombat 11earned a mostly positive response from the community, but there were those who were upset about some missing characters. The lack of Reptile definitely drummed up some controversy, but Mileena not being in the game seems to have drawn the most ire fromMortal Kombatfans.Mortal Kombat 11game director Ed Boon has had some fun with Mileena since the game’s launch by trolling them on Twitter, and there’s no indication that he will be stopping anytime soon.
Responding to a fan expressing their excitement over the upcomingMortal Kombat 11Sindel DLC, Boon said, “Yea, me too… Mileena’s gonna rock!” This is clearly a joke about the controversy of Mileena not being on theMortal Kombat 11roster, and how some fans have been genuinely upset about her exclusion.

While Mileena isn’t on the currentMortal Kombat 11roster, there are those who hold out hope that she will one day be added as a DLC fighter. Some leaks and datamines have pointed to moreMortal Kombat 11DLC characters coming afterSpawn is added to the game in March, though nothing official has been confirmed at this time. But even if NetherRealm does add more characters toMortal Kombat 11after it adds Spawn, it seems unlikely that Mileena will be a part of the lineup.
The list of leakedMortal Kombat 11DLC fighters, which proved to be largely accurate, does not mention Mileena. Furthermore, there are numerous instances whereMortal Kombat 11characters referenceMileena’s demiseinMortal Kombat X, and those lines of dialogue would feel weirdly out of place if Mileena was eventually added to the game.
Then again, it’s clear that NetherRealm is aware of how manyMortal Kombat 11fans want to see Mileena come to the popular fighting game. Considering this, maybe the studio will be convinced to add Mileena as DLC. Or maybe it will instead save Mileena’s return for the inevitableMortal Kombat 12that will likely release in a few years or so.
Whatever the case may be,Mortal Kombat 11fans still have a few new DLC characters to look forward to. Sindel is coming to the game on November 26, andThe Joker will be added in January. Spawn is coming in March, as previously mentioned, and evidence points to more characters coming after that. Whether one of those characters is Mileena or not remains to be seen.
Mortal Kombat 11is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, Stadia, and Xbox One.
