Summary

Mortal Kombat 1has a new update, although a subset of fans might not enjoy the news. TheMKfranchise has gone through hoops in trying to change up not just the story, but also a lot of gameplay mechanics in an effort to keep it from getting stale. In this aspect,Mortal Kombat 1has been well-receivedby the gaming community in general. Although not without bugs and glitches, the game has introduced enough fresh content to set itself apart from previous iterations. Still, many fans are awaiting what patches and updates await the reboot.

One of the biggest gripes currently in the game is what fans callMortal Kombat 1’s player 1 advantage. Many consider this bug to be game-breaking since it gives the first player an unfair advantage. Some have reported that gamers on the player 2 slot’s combos do not hit properly, among other things. It does take away from the enjoyment of the match and the title as a whole, so players are hoping that this is one of the issues already addressed. Luckily, NetherRealm Studios has just announced the arrival of a new patch, albeit with a small caveat.

Mortal Kombat 1’s latest patch is out for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The bad news is that there has been no news for the Switch version.Mortal Kombat 1on Switchhas received some backlash from the gaming community, to say the least, due to its performance issues. So it is quite surprising for NetherRealm Studios not to provide news about an update. Granted, with more issues plaguing that version, it’s safe to assume that the team might need more work for that patch.

The good news is that the patch that came out does address the previously mentioned player 1 advantage, among others. A lot of character-specific adjustments have also been introduced, that will certainly affect gameplay balance, hopefully in a good way. Plus, some minor items such as move list corrections and localization fixes have been taken care of. The NetherRealm Studios team looks to be pushingMortal Kombat 1in a positive direction.

Still, the game is still in its infancy. With many future Kombat Packs to come and new characters to introduce, players expect that more patches will arrive. Game balancing is going to be a constant concern for gamers once new Kombatants join the fray. At best, many fans are hopeful thatMortal Kombat 1’s Switch version fixeswill catch up so that it doesn’t get left behind. While there is no news yet for the Switch, gamers expect it to arrive not long after.
