Is A Metal Gear Solid 6 In Development?
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Painwas the last Kojima-ledMetal Gear Solidgame developed.The game’s development historywas a rough one, ripe with difficulties both known and unknown. The final stretches of development saw Kojima Productions' role greatly reduced, following a disagreement with the company’s higher executives who wished to pour more resources into the mobile market. After the release ofMetal Gear Solid 5and Kojima’s subsequent departure, Konami tried to capitalize on the franchise’s fandom withMetal Gear Survive. This game turned the tactical espionage action of the original games into a generic zombie survival game. Konami is reportedly licensing third-party studios to work on theMetal Gear Solidproperty, backing rumors regardingMetal Gear Solidremakes, which are supposedly exclusive to the PS5 and PC. While it isn’t confirmed at the moment,Bluepoint Gamesis rumored to be working on the remake(s).
Fan-speculation suggests that if such a remake garners a considerable amount of commercial and critical acclaim, it would result in the commencement of future entries in theMetal Gear Solidfranchise.
