Now it seems thatMcDonald’s is bringing backPokemoncardsfor 2023. As reported by Poke Beach, McDonald’s restaurants in Germany and Austria are expected to addPokemoncards to Happy Meals as early as July 27, with the promotion starting in the UK on August 23. A release date for the US and other countries has not been announced at the time of this writing, but chances are good that thePokemoncards will return to McDonald’s Happy Meals in the US at some point in August. The cards in question are Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Cetoddle, Cetitan, Pikachu, Pawmi, Kilowattrel, Flittle, Sandaconda, Klawf, Blissey, Tandemaus, Cyclizar, and Kirlia.

As revealed by the Poke Beach report, each Happy Meal purchase will get customers four cards, including one holo. The six holo cards are said to bePokemon Scarlet and VioletstartersSprigaito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, as well as Cetitan, Pikachu, and Klawf, meaning customers will have to buy a minimum of six Happy Meals if they hope to collect all the cards. Of course, most McDonald’s customers will likely have to buy a lot more than six Happy Meals if they want to collect all the cards in the latest McDonald’sPokemoncard promotion.
The cards are based onPokemon Scarlet and Violet, the latest main seriesPokemongames to be released. Even thoughPokemon Scarlet and Violetreleased last year, there’s still good reason for this promotion. As it so happens, there aretwoPokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC expansionsset to launch later this year. Considering this, it makes a great deal of sense to getPokemon Scarlet and Violetback in the public’s mind by bringing back the popular McDonald’sPokemonpromotion.
