Zabu is a card that was added toMarvel Snapas part of the Savage Land Season Pass, and it has an Ongoing ability that reduces the cost of a player’s 4-energy cards by two. While this ability is certainly not useful in every deck, it can be quite powerful when used in one that is built to take advantage of it. Zabu finds a nice home in this fairly-straightforwardMarvel SnapDevil Dinosaur deck. Indeed, Devil Dinosaur almost always wants to be played alongside Moon Girl and White Queen, two powerful four-cost cards, and putting them onto the board for just two energy can lead to some big plays in the mid- and late-game.
Notably,Marvel Snapplayerscan lean even further into Zabu’s effect by replacing Aero and Leader with cards like Spider-Man, Rockslide, and Rescue. Additionally, any one of those three cards can take Shuri’s place, if she has not yet been obtained, and it is absolutely fine to run Ice Man instead of Quinjet if necessary.
America Chavez
Darkhawk is an extremely-powerfulPool 5 card inMarvel Snapthat is made even better by reducing his cost with Zabu. This deck looks to support Darkhawk with cards like Korg, Black Widow, and Rock Slide, which serve to keep an opponent’s deck at a high card count, and Psylocke can help smooth out the curve when Zabu is not drawn.
This is not all that is going on with this deck, though, as it features a combo that is extremely potent when played alongsideMarvel Snap’s Zabu. That combo is Spider-Man and Absorbing Man, and it can be used to lock down two locations on Turn 5 when Zabu is in play. Moon Girl can also facilitate a similar play pattern by simply duplicating Spider-Man, giving the deck some alternative lines of play.
The Infinaut
This deck features some unique targets for Zabu, with both Dracula and Jubilee having the ability to add a ton of power to the board for only two energy. Zabu also cuts the cost of Ghost Rider, which can bring back a big threat that has been discarded with Lady Sif, and Sunspot plays very well with both The Infinaut andShe-Hulk inMarvel Snap.
With respect to replacements, Jessica Jones or Rescue are both great options for players that do not have Crossbones, and a card like The Hulk can take She-Hulk’s place. Fans could also consider running Hell Cow, which benefits from Zabu’s effect, and moving toward a Hela-based strategy.
