Stage 1

The first stage of the Dweller-In-Darkness Boss during Chapter 4 ofSquare Enix’sGuardians of the Galaxyis the easiest, but it can still lead to an early death if a tentacle swipes at the wrong moment. Thequickest and easiest way to clear this stage is to focus on one tentacle at a time. Star-Lord will provide the most stagger damage, as players can press L3 on consoles and use his “Vantage Point” ability to continually fly. This makes it easier to target the tentacles from a distance.

Once staggered, the tentacles will land and stay on the ground for a short amount of time. This is where the other Guardians' abilities should be used as quickly as they can. Gamora’s “Deadly Strike”, Rocket’s “Cluster Flark Bomb”, andDrax’s “Destroy” abilities inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxyare sure to make quick work of the appendages.

When each tentacle’s health meter has been depleted, it will be left vulnerable to an attack by Gamora.Look out for the prompt that appears above the tentacle that will send Gamora to chop it off. Missing the prompt means the creature will regenerate its health and players must lower it again.

Stage 2

After usingGamora inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxyto slice two tentacles from the Dweller-In-Darkness boss, the second stage will activate. This reveals two more to take care of, but players also have to battle waves of enemies alongside them. The same tactic for taking care of the tentacles applies in Stage 2, except they will retreat to the back of the room. ensure the prompt isn’t missed.

Rocket’s “Gravistack Grenade” ability is brilliant for grouping swarms of enemies togetherif players have unlocked it. Using abilities that cause damage to multiple enemies, like Gamora’s “Shadow Strike” or Star-Lord’s “Fan the Hammer” are also perfect for clearing multiple enemies. Especially if used right afterRocket’s “Gravistack Grenade” inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

The enemies will infinitely respawn, so don’t try and clear all of them before attacking the tentacles again, just enough to make attacking the monster easier.

Stage 3

The final stage in the Dweller-In-Darkness boss fight is the most hectic. Players should continue to use crowd-control Abilities, like the ones mentioned in Stage 2, to try and survive the waves while waiting for a bomb-like object to be thrown onto the battlefield byLady Hellbender’s monster inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

The bomb appears with a large red and blue ring surrounding it,making it easier to spot. As soon as it lands, get Drax to throw it backat Lady Hellbender’svillainous monster inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Make sure to do it quickly, or the bomb will blow up and injure the team. After throwing a few back, the creature will be stunned, and players can click the prompt in front of it to defeat the Dweller-In-Darkness.
