True to both Star-Lord and Rocket’s personalities inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the duo make a bet in Chapter 1 to see who can destroy the most Parasite Nests. If players can shoot more than Rocket while exploring the Quarantine Zone, they get bragging rights, and will unlock the “Eat It, Rodent” Trophy/Achievement.
How To Beat Rocket’s Score in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
Although the count seems tight at the beginning of the bet, there aretwo areas later on in the chapter that can net players a lot of pointsinMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Before this, though, players can use Peter’s visor (R3 on consoles) to search for the Parasite Nests. They have a yellow glow, and tend to hang from high areas or under platforms.

IfSquare Enix’s version of Rocketshoots a few nests before players notice, they canreload a checkpointto get there before him. However, Rocket’s score will slowly go up if players keep him waiting too long while exploring. So it’sbest to leave areas quickly, even the high-scoring locations.
High-Scoring Area 1
Players will come across a large area with lots of Parasite Nestsafter getting Groot to make a bridge into the Kree Sentry’s eye. Walk over the bridge and turn the corner to see the infested location. Use Peter’s visor (whoseStar-Lord name is explained inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy) to spot the nests quicker, but players don’t need to shoot at each one they see. This gives Rocket more time to score as well.
Make sure Peter is at least 6 points ahead of Rocket after clearing this area, as Rocket will reward himself 5 points after fighting a group. Remember to reload the checkpoint if falling behind.

High-Scoring Area 2
After splitting up withSquare Enix’s version of Groot, follow Rocket and equip Peter’s visor to spot the Parasite Nests ahead. Make sure to look up and check under the platforms as well. This is the last chance to score big and beat Rocket’s score inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. There are a few more chances to score some single points ahead if Rocket is winning by a small margin.
Eventually, players will fall down a gap and into darkness. When Rocket turns the light on, they will see the last Parasite Nest. Shoot it to unlock the “Eat It, Rodent” Trophy/Achievement. If Peter loses to Rocket, it’s easy to reload a chapter from the main menu of the game and try again. It’s also a great way to search for collectibles, like thecomic-inspired outfits inMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
